When Jaideep mentioned his aspiration to attend the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), his father boosted his confidence by saying, “Should he fail, he’ll take up farming.
Embracing an open-minded perspective has been instrumental in my personal journey towards following my heart’s desire – acting. Instead of being held back by the dread of potential failure, I chose to leap forward with courage and determination. This fearless approach has significantly contributed to my progression within the industry, shaping me into a more resilient and adaptable professional.
At first, Jaideep aimed to enlist in the Indian Army, but after numerous failed attempts at passing the Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews, he decided to pursue a career in acting instead.
He kicked off his acting career on the stage in Punjab and Haryana, taking part in numerous stage productions. Following his educational milestone in 2008, he chose to venture into acting in Mumbai.
In 2010, Jaideep first appeared on screen playing an antagonistic character in the film Khatta Meetha directed by Priyadarshan. That very year, he also starred alongside Ajay Devgn in Aakrosh.
Performing the role of Shahid Khan in Anurag Kashyap’s film, Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), represented a pivotal moment in his acting career, as it brought him extensive acclaim and recognition across the board.
Next up, you’ll find him in the second season of Paatal Lok, which is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video starting January 17, 2025.
