It seems logical that, given the excitement surrounding Rebecca Yarros’ “Onyx Storm” book release next week, one might expect a quick follow-up in the form of the highly anticipated “Fourth Wing” TV series. However, it appears that things are moving less swiftly in this case. This leads us to wonder: What could possibly be delaying its inclusion on the upcoming television schedule?
In case you haven’t delved into Yarros’ The Empyrean Series yet, here’s a quick heads-up: Fourth Wing is the inaugural novel of this series that’s soon to be adapted for screen. Onyx Storm, the third book in a projected five (though I’ve learned my lesson with Game of Thrones not to jump the gun), is on its way. Interestingly enough, Iron Flame, another installment, is already up for grabs if you fancy an early read.
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but marvel at the surge in popularity of this captivating series. The initial book alone has sold over two million copies since its release, and that number has climbed even higher, reaching more than three million as Elle recently interviewed Rebecca Yarros. Intriguingly, when asked about the current state of the series during this interview, she chose to remain tight-lipped, cleverly using Tom Holland’s knack for spoilers as a veil. She playfully hinted at his notorious habit of revealing too much as an explanation for her silence on the matter.
In this new field, I might as well be a greenhorn. I’ll likely act like Tom Holland in shock when I meet Michael B. Jordan.
Her comment pertains to some basics we’ve gathered about the show. For instance, it’s known that Michael B. Jordan’s production company is producing the series for Amazon, and there haven’t been any reports of him meeting with the author yet. Previously, we also found out that ‘Breaking Bad’ writer Moira Walley-Becket had taken on the role as showrunner, which gives me a sense of relief knowing the project isn’t stalled.
In addition, I’d prefer if the studio took a bit more time to ensure everything is perfect; however, this extended timeline has been observed in (Amazon’s other adaptation of) “A Court of Thornes and Roses,” which is based on the highly acclaimed books by Sarah J. Maas. And you know what happened with that series? Its future seems uncertain, and many fans have speculated that the Amazon series was canceled before it even began. This is certainly not the outcome I want for “Fourth Wing.
Among all the series that have been proposed recently, none has stirred up more anticipation in me than “Fourth Wing”. It’s packed with elements that fantasy enthusiasts crave – dragons, intricate armor, a complex love triangle, strategic battles, and an array of dragon and griffin riders, each with unique abilities. It seems like a surefire hit! I understand there might be budgetary concerns and logistical issues to address, but I can’t help but feel that postponing it any further could risk losing the initial excitement.
I anticipate we’ll gain some progress shortly, but for now, I’ll be keeping quiet in my online nook, much like dragons guarding their treasure hoards. However, I can’t help but vocalize my concerns about the lack of progress to anyone who’s willing to listen. It’s crucial we all contribute to Navarre’s future.
