The highly anticipated third season of “Invincible” on Amazon Prime Video has unveiled its timeline, promising an exciting stretch of weeks upon its arrival. This animated series, adapted from the comic book source of the same name, has been a resounding success for Amazon Prime since its premiere in March 2021. Fans had to wait over two years between Season 1 and Season 2, and even Season 2 had an aggravating pause, resulting in a four-month interruption right in the middle of the eight-episode season. However, Amazon Prime is ensuring they don’t repeat this mistake for Season 3, as the release schedule indicates it will return less than a year after Season 2 ended.
On the official “Invincible” Season 3 webpage, they unveiled the broadcast schedule for the series. Beginning on February 6, 2025, the initial three episodes of Season 3 will air. Afterward, a fresh episode will be released each week until the season concludes on March 13, 2025. This means that there will be eight episodes spread out over six weeks. The accompanying post for X showcases a calendar of release dates, as well as an image of Mark Grayson’s updated superhero outfit.
As a film critic, I find Prime Video’s approach to releasing their recurring series quite unique. Unlike Netflix and Disney+ that often dump all episodes at once or premiere one or two at a time, respectively, Prime Video tends to unveil three episodes at a time for shows like “The Boys” or “The Rings of Power.” This was also the case with the first season of “Invincible,” where the initial three episodes were made available on March 25, 2021, followed by the rest of the season concluding on April 29, 2021. Interestingly enough, the final episode of “Invincible” Season 1 aired around the same time as the finale of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” Now, it’s fascinating to note that the fourth episode of “Invincible” Season 3 will be aired on the same night that “Captain America: Brave New World” hits theaters.
Superhero Fans Will Have Plenty to Watch in the First Quarter of 2025
The release dates for Season 3 of “Invincible” place it squarely among some major superhero shows that could spark comparisons and contrasts. Meanwhile, Warner Bros.’ “Harley Quinn,” another adult-oriented animated superhero series, will air its fifth season on Thursdays on Max alongside “Invincible.” On the other hand, younger audiences can enjoy the TV-G rated “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,” which is set to release in weekly episode blocks a week prior to “Invincible” and finish during the same week as Prime Video’s fifth episode. As previously stated, “Captain America: Brave New World” will hit theaters, while eager fans can look forward to “Daredevil: Born Again,” which will premiere two days before the seventh episode of “Invincible.
Regardless of fierce competition, it seems that Season 3 of Invincible is poised to stand out with its continuation of the series’ iconic action and strong character development. There are numerous storylines from Season 2 set to unfold in Season 3, such as the anticipated Viltrumite invasion and the menace posed by the Sequid alien race. Fervent fans of Invincible can look forward to the confirmed Season 4, potentially meaning a one-year gap between the two seasons. Here’s hoping for a swift return!
