Abhishek Bachchan admits his and Aishwarya Rai’s daughter Aaradhya Bachchan’s generation has ‘no sense of hierarchy’; find out why

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai are proud parents to their 13-year-old child, Aaradhya. Recently, Abhishek shared thoughts on parenting Aaradhya and observed that her generation doesn’t seem to recognize social hierarchy as much as older generations do. He noted this difference in attitude between the two age groups.

In a recent chat with CNBC-TV18, Abhishek Bachchan pointed out his daughter Aaradhya as an illustration, underscoring his observation that today’s youth are strikingly distinct.

He made clear his perspective, saying, “Firstly, they don’t follow a traditional hierarchy as we did. Unlike our generation, if our parents spoke, we simply complied. However, the current youth are more curious. They desire understanding; they’re not content to obey merely because their parents say so.

The actor humorously pointed out that today’s youth often feel that merely being older doesn’t automatically guarantee wisdom. He playfully suggested that they can easily find answers with Google instead of seeking advice from their elders. In his view, the main reason kids nowadays tend to approach their parents is for emotional support rather than solutions to problems.

Abhishek Bachchan compared his own generation to the one they look up to, stating that they often sought guidance from their elders. He observed that today’s youth are more self-reliant and tend to question everything, a trait he found “impressive”.

Bachchan mentioned that he had a sense of what Aaradhya might be like due to his niece and nephew, Navya Naveli Nanda and Agastya Nanda. He clarified that they are not at all rude; instead, one needs to adjust one’s perspective slightly when dealing with them.

Speaking about his esteemed parents, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, the star of Housefull 5 shared that he was granted the liberty to chart his own course. He confessed that instead of being instructed on how to act, he gleaned wisdom from observing their behavior and mannerisms.

In his career, Abhishek will soon appear in Housefull 5, a movie spearheaded by Akshay Kumar. This project is steered by director Tarun Mansukhani and is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on June 6, 2025.
