The Saif Ali Khan case investigation is experiencing fresh developments. Following Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad’s arrest, it was disclosed that the Mumbai Police will reenact the crime scene as part of their investigation. More recently, a video showing the accused being transported to various locations for the crime scene recreation has emerged.

On January 21st, the news agency ANI posted a sequence of videos showing Mumbai police departing Saif Ali Khan’s residence in Bandra following their reconstruction of the crime scene. Furthermore, he was observed being transported to National College Bus Stop and Bandra Railway Station for similar reasons. Upon completion of the reenactment at the railway station, the team left in a police vehicle and returned to the Bandra Police Station.

On Sunday, January 19, approximately 70 hours after Saif Ali Khan was assaulted at his Bandra residence, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad was apprehended in Thane. At a subsequent press conference, DCP Zone 9, Dixit Gedam disclosed that the suspect is preliminarily from Bangladesh. He had assumed a false identity as Vijay Das while allegedly entering India unlawfully.

During the probe, it emerged that Shehzad held the title of a national wrestling champion from Bangladesh. When interrogated, he acknowledged his wrestling background in Bangladesh, a fact that the police believe granted him the necessary physical prowess to subdue the actor and others during the assault. Following the incident, he is said to have transiently resided in various areas including Bandra, Dadar, Worli, Andheri, and Thane before ultimately concealing himself near a labor camp in Thane.

It’s come to light that Shehzad was previously implicated in a different robbery several months prior, while working in Worli. Specifically, he allegedly stole a diamond ring and was subsequently terminated from his job. After this incident, he held a short-term position at a restaurant in Thane until December 2024.

At present, Saif Ali Khan is receiving medical care at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. His medical team and family, which includes Soha Ali Khan and Zahan Kapoor, have reassured everyone that he’s recovering nicely.
