Chhaava: Rashmika Mandanna radiates Maharashtrian royalty and ‘unmatched strength’ as Maharani Yesubai in Vicky Kaushal’s period drama

As an ardent admirer, I can hardly contain my exhilaration! Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, two of my favorite actors, are finally joining forces on the big screen in the epic period-drama, Chhaava. The filmmakers have been steadily building tension among us fans with their captivating promotional materials. But now, the anticipation has reached new heights as they’ve unveiled Rashmika’s stunning portrayal of Maharani Yesubai for the very first time! I can hardly wait to witness this magical pairing on screen!

On January 21st, Maddock Films’ official Instagram account posted a collaborative update showcasing their teamwork. The most recent posters highlighted Rashmika Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai, the spouse of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, portrayed by Vicky Kaushal.

In a striking and regal manner, the actress adorns a Maharashtrian Nauvari saree with elaborate jewelry, complete with a traditional nose ring and red bindi on her forehead, giving an authentic queenly appearance. Rashmika stands prominently in the first poster, radiating a charming smile, while the second suggests a subtler, more tense atmosphere. The opulent backdrop hints at a captivating movie experience to come.

Every powerful king has a strong queen by his side. Meet Rashmika Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai, Swarajya’s pride. The trailer for #Chhaava will be out tomorrow! In theaters on Valentine’s Day 2025.

Take a look

Shortly thereafter, numerous comments poured into the section expressing enthusiasm about the movie, with fans extolling the actress’s appearance. One comment read, “We salute the QUEEN,” while another exclaimed, “Wow @rashmika_mandanna our Maratha queen… alongside our Chaava @vickykaushal09” followed by numerous heart and fire emojis.

On Monday, Chhaava’s creators unveiled fresh posters highlighting Vicky Kaushal in four distinct roles. These images vividly portrayed Kaushal’s warrior persona, as he was depicted wielding a sword, trident, and shield, all set for combat against his adversaries.

The much-anticipated movie “Chhaava” is helmed by Laxman Utekar, who previously collaborated with Vicky on the film “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke.” In addition to the main cast, Akshaye Khanna plays a significant role in this production. A teaser for the film was unveiled last year, sparking widespread curiosity and anticipation among viewers.

Tomorrow, you’ll get a glimpse of the grand period drama as its trailer drops, specifically on January 22. Produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, this movie is expected to premiere in cinemas on Valentine’s Day, which falls on February 14, 2025.
