Carhartt WIP SS25 Is “Anchored in the Archives”

For the Spring/Summer 2025 season, Carhartt WIP has unveiled a preview of their upcoming collection. Drawing inspiration from past releases, this season’s Carhartt WIP collection is deeply rooted in tradition, as the brand describes it, “grounded in our archives.” It presents a modern interpretation of some of their classic designs.

The collection of clothing items and accessories is extensive, planned to be released in three separate installments. This assortment draws fashion inspiration from various aspects of WIP’s workwear-influenced design periods, such as 90s-style denim and chambray, sportswear reminiscent of college campuses, heavyweight overshirts, and tailored jackets with a textured finish.

The assortment features diverse shades and treatments of denim, ranging from dark washes to lighter ones, scattered throughout. Pieces like overshirts in contrasting dark-washed denim and stone-washed, lighter tones are intermingled. Highlights of the collection include the OG Active Jacket and Classic Vest, now available in a new stone-dyed wash that creates a worn-out look. Meanwhile, items such as the Blake Pullover, Blake Pant, and Coach Jacket exhibit a Trompe-l’œil effect, appearing denim-like but actually crafted from a soft, lighter chambray fabric instead.

In this collection, college-style themes are prevalent, showcased through items like the Embroidered Flags Rugby Sweatshirt and Hooded WIP Sweat Jacket, both featuring decorative elements. The range also includes patterned pieces, with the brand embracing bold prints and vivid color schemes across many items such as eye-catching pink and red hoodies, graphic tees, and jerseys. The Women’s Tarbell Skirt and top set are checkered all over, while the Irwin Vest and Jacket feature a duck camouflage design.
