Lately, Chittaranjan Tripathy, director of the National School of Drama, commended Khan, labeling him as a ‘theater artist’ initially and a superstar later on. He underscored that it demands great bravery to excel in the intricate realm of show business.
During a conversation with PTI, the esteemed theater, television, and cinema artist Chittaranjan Tripathy—who holds the position of director at NSD—expressed his profound respect for Shah Rukh Khan’s extraordinary journey, transforming himself from an everyday individual born into an average family to reaching international acclaim.
He emphasized the actor’s strong bond with theater, pointing out that he views him primarily as a theater artist and only secondarily as a superstar. He attributed a significant portion of his success to his theatrical background, stating, “For me, he’s a theater artist first, later a superstar.
He found a strong personal connection with SRK’s transformation from an ordinary person to extraordinary success. Despite not being in the same situation, he identifies with them because of their common roots in theater. It feels like he can relate to Shah Rukh Khan’s narrative as if he were living his own story.
Chittaranjan pointed out that Shah Rukh Khan fashioned a distinct, original, and self-reliant acting style which resonated with millions. He underscored the fact that Khan’s unwavering confidence in himself significantly enhances his talent.
He added, “It takes real courage to make an impact in such a complex situation. His confidence is truly worthy of praise.
In terms of work, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his upcoming movie titled “King,” which will be directed by Sujoy Ghosh and produced by Siddharth Anand. This film holds a unique significance as it marks the first time SRK will appear alongside his daughter, Suhana Khan, on screen.
This fast-paced movie will star Abhishek Bachchan and Abhay Verma in significant parts. The production team plans to start shooting in January 2025, hoping to release the film near the celebration of Eid in 2026.
