Following a violent break-in attempt last Thursday, January 16th, Saif Ali Khan provided a statement to the Bandra police detailing the incident. During the incident, an intruder entered his residence with the intent of robbing him. In this statement, the actor recounted chilling details about the event. To offer more clarity, here are five key points that summarize the situation.

As reported by News 18, Saif Ali Khan disclosed that he was in his bedroom with his wife, Kareena Kapoor, on the 12th floor of their home, when he noticed some disturbance between 2:30 am and 2:40 am on January 16. He then went down to the 11th floor where their sons Taimur, Jeh, and their nanny reside.

2. Upon entering Jeh’s room, the actor found the caretaker arguing loudly with a stranger who had a knife. Feeling threatened, the actor attempted to seize him.

In response to this, the intruder repeatedly jabbed him. The 54-year-old man disclosed that he was stabbed in his back, neck, and hands during the attack. At the same time, the caretaker exited the room with their son, Jeh.

4. Saif asserted that he managed to grasp the attacker firmly, but let go when the attacker was repeatedly stabbed in the back several times.

5. The actor explained to the police that he had tried, somehow, to subdue and confine the attacker within the room. Simultaneously, his wife Kareena Kapoor and sons Taimur and Jeh became frightened at the sight of his injury and bleeding. It was during this instance that he was urgently taken to the hospital.
