On Thursday, actress Lauren Graham arrived at Park City for the premiere of her latest film titled “Twinless” at the Sundance Film Festival. This bromantic drama features Dylan O’Brien alongside its writer-director James Sweeney, in a tale about two young men who unexpectedly form a bond after meeting in a support group for twin loss survivors.
In a recent role, actress Glenda Jackson portrays the parent of Danny O’Brien’s characters in the movie “Maze Runner.” This multi-talented actor takes on two parts, playing both twins – one who tragically dies and the other who searches for solace following the loss of his twin. Although the role is relatively minor, Jackson found it too intriguing to resist. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter at the Eccles Center Theatre, she shared, “I don’t usually get offered more complex roles like this one, and I was excited about the opportunity to take on a challenge.” She also mentioned that she appreciates O’Brien’s acting skills and enjoys his work.

In their limited shared scenes, Graham observed that O’Brien and she had an instant connection. She commented, “He possesses such captivating charm and gave his all to both twin characters, maintaining a serious dedication but with a touch of playfulness and kindness towards the crew and me. He’s versatile, able to excel in any role.
Regarding Graham, she’s got a busy schedule ahead. The actress will briefly be in Park City for approximately 24 hours before dashing off to New York City for a whirlwind media tour for her upcoming show, The Z-Suite, on Tubi. This series, slated for release on Feb. 6, finds Graham portraying Monica Marks, an advertising guru who, alongside her dedicated second-in-command (Nico Santos), are ousted and terminated after a mistake. They must then devise a strategy to regain their status while contending with ambitious Gen Z employees who have filled their positions.
The itinerary features morning talk show appearances, a red carpet event, a return to the popular segment known as ‘the swirl’, which she hasn’t been part of for several years. She mentioned that she’s now with a different network where her show is one of the initial scripted programs. “There’s some pressure,” she admitted, “but also a lot of enthusiasm and anticipation. We’ll do our best to make it successful without messing things up.
Following the release of the trailer, several articles emerged attempting to draw parallels between Lorelai Gilmore, played by Graham, from Gilmore Girls and Monica Marks on The Z-Suite. While Graham acknowledges the connection, she emphasizes that these characters are fundamentally distinct.
She shared with THR that there are no matching elements [with the previous role], and she hopes they’ll join her on this journey. She admits she can’t recreate the enchantment and brilliance of that character, script, and era. Instead, she finds this new role to be unique – it’s lively, quirky, and the show embodies a warm spirit. Yet, it’s distinctly different from her previous character.
