Recently, in a moment that felt almost surreal, I found myself standing next to Big B for a photo, an image I proudly shared on Instagram accompanied by a heartfelt message. In the note, I confessed my struggle to express in words what he signifies to me; watching him on the big screen has provided a connection that links me not just to the world of films, but to the very essence of cinema itself.

In the picture, Amitabh Bachchan and Divya Dutta are captured sharing a friendly moment, showcasing their radiant smiles. In a recent post, she confided that witnessing Big B’s enchantment on the silver screen forged a profound bond with the cinematic realm. She reminisced about their collaborations in four movies, including Baghban and one from last year, which left her craving for even more shared experiences.

For those not in the know, acting greats Big B and Divya Dutta have collaborated on numerous memorable films, demonstrating their wide-ranging acting abilities. In Baghban (2003), they took on the roles of a father and daughter-in-law, with Dutta portraying Reena Malhotra, one of Bachchan’s characters’ wives. Their powerful performances contributed significantly to the film’s poignant storyline.

2007’s The Last Lear, masterfully directed by Rituparno Ghosh, saw me, as an overjoyed fan, embracing the role of Harish Mishra, a retired Shakespearean actor, with none other than the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. Meanwhile, the captivating Konkona Dutta breathed life into Ivy, his dedicated caretaker. This cinematic journey immersed us in the enchanting realms of theater and film, offering us a masterclass in acting as both performers delivered performances that were nothing short of profound.

2004’s Veer-Zaara movie featured Amitabh Bachchan playing the role of Veer’s uncle and Rani Mukerji playing the part of Zaara’s friend. Their performances enriched the diverse collection of characters in the film.

Furthermore, they teamed up in the films Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1998) and Delhi 6 (2009), strengthening their on-screen alliance. Their performances in these collaborations have been appreciated, as both actors lent a rich depth and genuine feel to their characters.
