Saif Ali Khan Attack: Accused’s custody extended; here’s how many more days he will be with Police

Mohammad Shehzad, the Bangladeshi man who allegedly stabbed actor Saif Ali Khan during a failed robbery at his residence in Bandra, has been kept in police custody until January 29, 2025. The extension of his detention by five days was granted by a Mumbai court. Police stated that crucial evidence connected to the attack is still missing, leading to worries about safety in the surrounding area.

In my professional opinion, according to recent updates, substantial advancements have been achieved in this particular case; however, there remains a need for deeper exploration of associated matters. Given the gravity of the alleged crime, it would be suitable for trial in a Sessions Court.

To establish the defendant’s innocence, a thorough investigation is necessary. Given the details provided, it appears that the notice under Section 35 of BNSS does not apply in this case. Additionally, the court found nothing in the records that hints at an illegal arrest.

The authorities shared that the individual under suspicion was unwilling to help identify where the weapon involved in the crime originated. They also highlighted that a facial recognition comparison with security camera footage needed the accused to stay in detention. Furthermore, it was disclosed that the police had yet to acquire the shoes worn by the suspect during the incident.

Last week’s stabbing incident at Saif Ali Khan’s Bandra residence, which involved a Bangladeshi national, has had a statement from the actor taken by police, and this has been officially verified.

I, as a dedicated follower, am sharing information that Satyanarayan Choudhary, Joint Commissioner of Law and Order, has mentioned. He stated that a statement from an actor was obtained at his residence. Previously, the Bandra Police had also recorded a statement from Kareena Kapoor.

A week ago, Khan fell victim to a burglar named Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, who forced his way into Khan’s house with the aim of stealing.

Following a vicious fight with the suspect, Saif Ali Khan sustained stab wounds, particularly on his upper back and other parts of his body. Immediately afterward, he was transported to Lilavati Hospital for prompt medical care due to the attack. Six days later, Saif was released from Lilavati Hospital post-surgery.
