Timothée Chalamet is widely regarded as one of the best young actors in Hollywood today, delivering impressive performances across various roles. Many believe he has the potential, intuition, and charm to become the most successful actor of his generation. However, despite this promising start, he hasn’t had much luck at awards shows, having lost at BAFTA, SAG, Golden Globes, and the Oscars multiple times. As another possible loss at the Oscars approaches, Chalamet chose to address this pattern of non-wins during his appearance on Saturday Night Live, embracing his history of losses instead.
As a dedicated cinephile, I thought it would be intriguing to offer some backstory and perspective on my string of setbacks. Then, to really drive the point home, I compiled a heartrending montage showcasing my progressively disheartened expressions following those disappointments. It’s none other than Timothée Chalamet‘s melancholic reel that every one of us needs in our lives, and it becomes even more captivating when he follows up by requesting to recite a somber speech he’s held onto for years, only to discover that the show had chosen Kenan Thompson for the honors instead. The ensuing reaction is priceless, and you can catch it all in the video below.
One significant factor behind Chalamet’s recent success lies in his ability to resonate with a wide array of people. He’s been cherished by film enthusiasts for years due to his brave choices and intricate roles. Fashion aficionados on the red carpet also find him captivating. Yet, it’s not just the big screen or high fashion where he shines; he even charmed sports fans with his appearance on ESPN’s College Gameday earlier this year. The authenticity that permeates every aspect of his persona is palpable here as well, particularly in this instance where he playfully mocks himself and exudes genuine enjoyment.
It’s promising that Adrien Brody may soon no longer be associated with losing at awards shows. Following his nomination for the Oscar as Bob Dylan in “A Complete Unknown“, he now has two nominations under his belt. He seems to be a strong contender for the win, making it possible that he might finally receive a major trophy. If not, we’ll have another emotional performance from him to add to future compilation videos of all his losses. What an exciting moment it would be if he wins!
At the very least, if Chalamet doesn’t win, he’ll have his special “Dune” popcorn bucket as a companion. If you haven’t heard about this yet, you’ve been missing out! You probably already know that Chalamet stars in the lead role, and fans can’t get enough of the series. However, they were taken aback when they saw the custom popcorn bucket for the movie, which looked a lot more adult-themed than anticipated. Many people immediately took to social media to express their confusion, saying it looks like a sex toy. Chalamet himself agreed and joked that he keeps it under his bed. The controversy even inspired other movies to go for a more adult-themed approach with their popcorn buckets, and I can’t wait to see how it continues to inspire humor on Saturday Night Live.
If you haven’t caught Timothée Chalamet‘s entire Saturday Night Live (SNL) episode yet, I strongly recommend giving it a watch. As per usual, he’s more than willing to dive into pure chaos, with one sketch featuring him dressing up as a dog and discussing the things he enjoys to hump. Additionally, there’s an impressive appearance by Lin-Manuel Miranda. It’s quite likely that Chalamet will return to host SNL again in the future, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he also graces many award shows with his presence. At some point, he may even take home multiple awards.
