It’s not a mystery why comedians flock to the Big Apple.
Many well–known comedians have risen to stardom from the bustling city of New York, with establishments like Noam Dworman‘s Comedy Cellar serving as iconic stages for their careers.
Back then, things were different. Nowadays, New York grapples with issues like crime, homelessness, and a struggling municipal administration. Some residents are not fond of humor that appears out–of–touch or insensitive.
Speaking here as an ardent movie enthusiast, I‘m sharing some exciting news – it‘s none other than Tyler Fischer, who stole the show in “Lady Ballers,” sent chills with “Terror on the Prairie,” and now, he‘s making us laugh out loud with his own FOX Nation comedy special, “Tyler Fischer: No Pardon Needed.
Fisher explained on the Ebaster.ru Podcast why he chose to move to Austin, Texas, while still maintaining connections in New York City.
Fischer stated on the podcast that the [Democratic] political party was ruining the city. Despite being an amazing place, it became unsafe. I got robbed by a homeless person who hid my phone in his pants. That‘s something that will stay with you…it made me joke about being shoved onto the subway tracks,” he quipped.
Apart from crime, the allure of Joe Rogan‘s Comedy Mothership club based in Austin, Texas also played a significant role in his decision to relocate there.
After my comedy performances, I faced numerous criticisms from certain segments of the audience. Although it was just a small fraction (about 1%), there were groups of vocal feminist women who pursued me following each show. It might seem overstated, but every evening some incident would occur.
As a film buff putting my thoughts into words, I can‘t help but express some personal observations that have been on my mind lately. I find myself questioning certain aspects of our current situation, from the seemingly overreaching measures related to COVID–19, to what appears to be the obvious cognitive challenges faced by former President Joe Biden, and even the ongoing debate about progressive ideologies, which I sometimes perceive as a “woke mind virus.” It‘s important to note that these are my personal views, and I respect everyone‘s right to their own opinions.
All of the above put a target, of sorts, on his back.
At Rogan‘s Mothership, comedians are free to express their humor without facing any consequences for it.
He described it as a joyful commemoration of humor, stating that both the Mothership and Austin‘s comedic essence embody this.
Instead, he chose a middle ground, keeping connections in New York while also establishing roots in the wider Austin region.
He made up his mind to find common ground – maintaining ties with New York City and moving to the greater Austin area as well.
He opted for a compromise, continuing some affiliations in New York while also acquiring a space within the broader Austin district.
He made up his mind to find common ground – maintaining ties with New York City and moving to the greater Austin area as well. This way of expressing it captures both the idea of compromise (splitting the difference) and the geographical locations mentioned in the original sentence.
That dual home setup has its advantages above and beyond any crime concerns.
When performing on stage and encountering opposition, it often transforms into a discussion in which you need to clearly express your ideas. If the humor doesn‘t resonate, you must continue improvising, but this process can ultimately make the joke more robust.
As I immersed myself once more in the bustling streets of New York, revisiting and refining my work, I discovered a remarkable improvement. Then, bringing this newfound essence to the vibrant city of Austin, it seemed as if I was celebrating the very material that had ignited my creativity.
