Last July, Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal welcomed their baby girl, Zuneyra Ida Fazal, into their family. In a recent conversation, Richa spoke about her initial experience as a mother, emphasizing the significance of having a helpful partner at home during this phase. She recently disclosed in an interview that Ali had applied for paternity leave after their daughter’s birth but was denied. Furthermore, she shared that people’s responses were often humorous and dismissive, saying something like, “You really want it?” to Ali’s request for paternity leave.

During an interview with Faye D’Souza on her YouTube channel, Richa Chadha discussed the subject of paternity leave. She disclosed that Ali Fazal had asked for paternity leave following the arrival of their child, yet didn’t get much backing in doing so.

Richa mentioned that the reactions to his request were rather dismissive, with some suggesting a timespan of one or two weeks would suffice. However, it was an unexpected hold-up in Ali’s filming schedule that allowed him to be present for her during this crucial time as a new parent – a period she characterized as intensely supportive.

Richa went into detail about the complexities of starting motherhood, stating that it entails navigating an array of feelings, exhaustion from lack of sleep, numerous body discomforts, and severe mental fog.

She underscored the significance of a nurturing companion during these times, pointing out that not all individuals in India can manage expensive child-care services. Richa additionally underlined the necessity for an increase in female leadership roles, demonstrating how their involvement could bring about a profound shift in the way the economy operates.

Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal initially met each other on the set of Fukrey. In September 2022, they revealed their plans for an eco-friendly wedding, and on October 4, they exchanged vows in Lucknow.

Previously, they shared a sneak peek of their child on Instagram by collaborating on a post. The caption stated, “We’re teaming up for the most significant collaboration yet! Life has truly been blessed. Our little girl has kept us quite occupied. So we appreciate your love and well-wishes.

Most recently, Richa graced the screen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s series titled “Heeramandi: The Diamond Market.” Simultaneously, Ali made an appearance in Mirzapur 3 on Amazon Prime Video, and is set to feature in upcoming projects such as “Metro In Dino” and “Lahore 1947.
