Hed Mayner Embraces Change and Transition for FW25

The Fall/Winter 2025 collection from Hed Mayner signifies the start of a fresh phase in his design journey. Following his departure from the studio where he had spent seven productive years, Mayner welcomed change by partnering with a pattern-maker in a novel environment. This shift has paved the way for exciting creative opportunities, culminating in a vibrant FW25 menswear line as Mayner refines and reinvents his signature style of oversized tailoring.

A strong desire for adaptability and versatility is clear in items such as suits incorporating tracksuit aspects, cotton shirts with curved sleeves, and chunky knitwear adorned with tassels. The collection ventures beyond expectations with baggy trousers styled around the hip in a relaxed, flowing manner. At the same time, long, swinging chains hang from and above belts that struggle to keep these voluminous pants in check.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but marvel at how Mayner masterfully combines luxurious dimensions with inventive fabrics. From denim that feels like a flock of friends, to leather that’s been gently washed, and plaid knits that seem fresh off the loom, each piece is meticulously cut and sewn anew. The collection showcases a delightful, flowing whimsy, as Mayner experiments with collaging, sculpting, and reimagining traditional tailored shapes.

The poetry is woven into the descriptions accompanying the show, detailing Mayner’s voyage and infusing it with a dash of poetic flair to create an air of subtle sophistication for this charmingly understated fashion line. Behold Hed Mayner’s FW25 menswear collection displayed above.
