Investigators in Mumbai are examining another possible culprit in the Saif Ali Khan case. The individual under scrutiny, Mohammad Shehzad, is said to be refusing to assist the authorities. Analysis of bloodstains and clothing items is ongoing. In a previous update, it’s been reported that the suspect’s fingerprints don’t align with those discovered at the actor’s Bandra home. To clarify this discrepancy, further samples have been sent for examination. Now, the police are actively searching for another individual in relation to this case.
According to an NDTV report, the probe found 19 fingerprints at the location that don’t correspond with those of Mohammad Shehzad.
Based on information available, the Mumbai Police sent fingerprints they had collected to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for examination. The CID’s system produced a report indicating that there was no match, which suggests no connection. As a result, the police have now submitted extra samples for further analysis in order to progress the investigation.
It’s worth noting that Saif Ali Khan, the actor, experienced an attack by an intruder armed with a knife in his apartment on the 12th floor of the Satguru Sharan building in Bandra, early on January 16. This unwanted visitor inflicted several stab wounds on him, some close to his neck and spine. He was quickly transported to Lilavati Hospital where he underwent two operations before being released on January 21.
On January 19th, the authorities apprehended an individual named Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, aged 30, following surveillance camera footage that showed him in the building’s stairway.
A Bangladeshi man, who stands accused, apparently entered India unlawfully and declared that he was tricked with false promises of authentic citizenship papers in return for payment. He asserted that this deception led him to attempt a break-in at the residence of the actor. Currently, officials are probing the individual believed to have made such enticing offers.
The police enlisted the aid of Western Railway and utilized facial recognition technology to compare the trespasser’s features with possible suspects on their list.
Because the video of the person leaving the building wasn’t completely clear, this approach aided in reducing potential matches. Although Shariful was apprehended using CCTV proof, the authorities are still investigating further to strengthen their case.
