WordPix is one of our top picks from Pocket Gamer Connects London

  • With the wrapping of Pocket Gamer Connects over in London, we got hands-on with some top releases
  • One that grabbed our attention was the word-based puzzler WordPix
  • In it, you figure out the particular words required from simple images

You might be aware that we recently concluded our regular conference on our sister site, Pocket Gamer Connects London. However, what you might not have been aware of is how this event offered us a unique opportunity to glimpse some fascinating new launches, and one standout title that caught the attention of editor Dann Sullivan was WordPix!

In WordPix, the gameplay is straightforward. You’re shown various images and your task is to figure out the related word. For instance, a creature with scales could be a Lizard, while a specific type of rodent would be a Capybara. While it may not challenge your brain too much, it’s an excellent method for keeping your mind active when you’re on the move.

WordPix offers multiple game modes to keep you engaged, ranging from single-player and multiplayer options to competitive Beat the Boss challenges against the computer. Additionally, daily challenges with Word of the Day and Quote of the Day, along with a Sudoku mode, provide ample entertainment.

It’s not hard to understand why Dann found this appealing, since WordPix offers all the features one could desire in a puzzle game. Its interface is straightforward, clean, and easy on the eyes, its core idea is simple yet becomes more challenging as you progress, and there are numerous twists that keep things interesting. I’m looking forward to seeing further developments from the creators as they roll out their worldwide release this year, attracting even more players. At present, those in the US, UK, and Android users in the UK can enjoy it on iOS devices, with Android users in the UK getting a chance to join in too.
