In Monster Hunter: Wilds, set to debut on February 28, a fearsome new creature known as Nu Udra, or the Black Flame, will make its appearance. This monster, hailing from the Oilwell Basin, is a thrilling amalgamation of an octopus and elements reminiscent of Lovecraftian nightmares.

Today, IGN revealed a preliminary glimpse of Nu Udra, causing a stir among players who can’t wait to witness this colossal monster wreak havoc when the game is released. Yet, many were not anticipating just how fearsome and elusive it would turn out to be.

Observe Nu Udra moving gracefully yet unsettlingly smoothly as it navigates its surroundings, not so much sliding as twisting and turning.

Now that the Black Flame’s identity and game mechanics have been unveiled, players can’t help but wonder what the main monster of Monster Hunter: Wilds, Arkveld, might bring to the table.

Previously, we encountered other formidable Apex creatures, among them being Rey Dau, the dominant figure of the Windward Plains. This colossal wyvern, boasting a railgun-like weapon as its head, offered an exhilarating fight during the game’s initial open beta – and it was simply thrilling.
