The Pirates of the Caribbean film series, produced by Disney, has been one of only a few live-action brands apart from Marvel and Star Wars that has achieved success. After a fairly successful fifth installment, the series has been on pause. Despite Disney’s assurance that a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie is in the works, there’s no word on when it will be released or which characters might reappear. It’s uncertain if Johnny Depp will return, but there’s speculation about Orlando Bloom potentially making another appearance.
Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer, has frequently expressed his desire that Johnny Depp might reprise his role in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean movie, despite Disney suggesting they were proceeding without him. As time goes by, a Depp return becomes increasingly possible, but Entertainment Weekly recently queried another franchise actor, Orlando Bloom, about his interest in returning for the next film. He didn’t rule it out, acknowledging he enjoyed himself the first time, so he’s at least considering the idea. Bloom mentioned…
To sum up, that wild and enjoyable experience left quite an impression on me, and I hold Jerry in high regard for it. However, I can’t say for sure if I’d do it again, as I haven’t given it much thought. What I can say is that I’m grateful to have been a part of something timeless, which makes it pretty cool.
Following his absence in “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”, Orlando Bloom made a brief appearance in the role for “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales”. This comeback, along with Kiera Knightley’s fleeting reappearance, served to neatly tie up the series’ relationship arc and resolve its principal unresolved plot point.
Although Bloom enjoys the process of filming the Pirates series, Keira Knightley has recently expressed that the movie-making experience was more challenging for her. This suggests she holds no interest in rejoining the franchise. Bloom values his time spent on these films but acknowledges that Knightley did not share this sentiment.
Reflecting on that pivotal moment, it seems as though an entire lifetime has passed since then. Yet, it remains distinctively unique and I am eternally grateful for the experience. I can empathize with Keira’s perspective, and I must say she does remarkable work. There are many valuable lessons and memories I carry from that time.
It’s just as likely that Orlando Bloom may rejoin the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise as any other scenario. There are several film projects for the series under consideration, one of which was set to feature Margot Robbie, but it’s not the current project in development. However, producer Jerry Bruckheimer has mentioned that making a movie in the future is still an option.
According to Bruckheimer, there’s a chance we might see Captain Jack Sparrow played by Johnny Depp again in future films. As time goes on, it seems increasingly possible that Disney may reconsider their decision and include him.
As a die-hard movie buff, I’m eagerly anticipating the upcoming Pirates flick! Whether it continues the story from the last movie or simply takes place in the same cinematic universe, there’s a chance we might see Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom back in action. However, it could also be a complete reboot of the franchise – only time will tell! So, let’s keep our fingers crossed and wait for more updates!
