Prime Video is adding to its roster of young adult series.
Amazon Studios, which is owned by Amazon, has commissioned a drama titled “Sterling Point” from writer-director Megan Park, who gained recognition through her work on “My Old Ass.” This project marks Park’s first series, having received nominations for both the Writers Guild and Directors Guild awards in the past for her contributions to “My Old Ass.
For the moment, specifics about the storyline of “Sterling Point” are under wraps. Shane Park will both lead as director and share the role of co-showrunner with veteran creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who are known for their work on shows like “The O.C.” and “Gossip Girl”. The series is being produced by Amazon MGM Studios in collaboration with LuckyChap, the same production company that brought us the critically acclaimed “My Old Ass”, which made a splash at Sundance in 2024 and was later acquired by Amazon MGM for distribution.
Vernon Sanders, the head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, stated that Megan’s shared vision with Josh, Stephanie, and LuckyChap has made ‘Sterling Point’ captivating. The series addresses topics that appeal to both young and older audiences, and we are eager to bring their creative ideas to fruition for our worldwide Prime Video subscribers.
Park expressed his excitement about collaborating with LuckyChap and Amazon once more after our fantastic adventure creating My Old Ass. It’s a dream for any creator to have their trust in my world-building. I feel privileged to be working alongside Stephanie and Josh, two exceptional professionals who excel in their fields. We’re having an amazing time creating something we truly cherish, and we hope the audience will share our enthusiasm too.
Park shared his delight about joining forces with LuckyChap and Amazon once more following our remarkable journey making My Old Ass. Every creator dreams of having their trust in world-building, and I feel fortunate to be working with Stephanie and Josh, two masters of their craft. Together, we’re enjoying the process of creating something that we genuinely love, and we hope the audience will feel the same way too.
The team consisting of Park, Schwartz, and Savage (through their Fake Empire production company) will serve as executive producers for the series. This collaboration is being facilitated by LuckyChap, who holds a prioritized agreement with Amazon MGM, allowing them to be the first to consider new projects from this company.
Sterling Point is set to be part of Prime Video’s roster of Young Adult (YA) productions, which already includes “The Summer I Turned Pretty” and future releases such as “The Runarounds,” “Every Year After,” and “Off Campus.
