Woolly Boy and the Circus is a new point-and-click adventure where you take on the role of Woolly and his dog Ball trying to escape the circus where they have become imprisoned. Along the way, you’ll meet and help numerous characters that all add up to a rather emotional narrative. The challenges presented here like most point-and-clicks can become rather difficult, yet with some patience and perseverance can be overcome.
Initially, I found myself astonished by Woolly Boy and the Circus’s visuals and auditory spectacle, which could very well be among the finest I’ve experienced in 2023. The vibrant, hand-drawn graphics appear as if they leap off the screen, much like illustrations from a captivating fairy tale book for children. Simultaneously, the lively circus sounds contribute to making this journey feel more immersive. Furthermore, the game’s ability to alternate between characters and offer numerous arcade-style minigames enriches the gaming experience by providing depth and variety.

This is the kind of puzzler that I really enjoy. Woolly is kidnapped by his friend and finds himself alone in a crate. The aim of the game is to find your way to his friend while meeting other creatures and robots and keeping away from danger. There are lots of puzzles to solve from finding items to moving objects to searching for codes. The graphics are cute and fun, the controls are easy to master, and you don’t need the sound so I turned it off. If you want to spend a few hours lost in a twisty story and plenty to think about, then this is the game for you.

A visually appealing hand-drawn point-and-click puzzler + mini-games. Cute story, interesting characters, and challenging puzzles. It gets more interesting when you swap characters to complete the puzzles. I’ve always enjoyed that feature in games. Some puzzles are more challenging than others, and sometimes I found that you had to leave a room and go back to see what you needed to do or for a puzzle to work, but once you accept that, it seems to work pretty well. Overall, a fun game that’s challenging and fun with appealing graphics.

Nice little gem of a game we got here, especially for point-and-click adventures and puzzle enthusiasts. The entrance to the game is brilliant, presented as a little theatre with puppets in several acts, where we see our heroes being kidnapped by a strange character and sent to be displayed in a circus. The game starts very simple, which is great for people who never played either genre, puzzle or point-and-click, and where you slowly start to understand how everything works, mechanic-wise, and also to see where Wooly got himself into.
Embarking on this journey, I’m on a mission to locate our beloved canine companion, and along the way, I’ll encounter a series of challenges that range from simple to complex. Once I manage to reunite with my furry friend, the game takes an exciting turn, offering the ability to switch between myself and the dog. Each character has unique abilities, allowing them to assist one another and progress through the circus town. Together, we’ll aid various characters, ultimately escaping from our predicament.
As a gamer, I must say, this game is a visual treat! The vibrant colors and impressive design are everywhere you look, it’s like being in a candy store for the eyes. However, since some items can be hidden off-screen, I find myself having to navigate my character meticulously, keeping an eye out for that subtle hand or cog icon that signals there’s something to interact with.
What really sets this game apart are the numerous puzzles and mini-games. They’re engaging, fun, and keep me hooked. The best part is, you can finish it in a few hours if you’re an old hand at this genre, or take your time savoring each level like I am. I’m about halfway through, and I’m loving every moment of it. This one’s definitely a keeper!

Woolly Boy and the Circus is a charming point-and-click adventure. Woolly and his dog are trapped by a stranger and his remote control robot. Waking up in a cage Woolly must work out how to escape and find his dog. It’s a fairly standard point-and-click adventure. You find and use objects to progress, solve puzzles and mini-games to play. The puzzles are usually straight forward but I was stumped a few times. The graphics look hand-drawn and the sound is sparse but does the job. It’s not a long game but you’ll have fun while it lasts.
