Although Scream 7 isn’t set to release in 2025, there’s been a steady stream of Ghostface updates instead. The most recent news is that a former killer who once wore the iconic mask will be rejoining the crew for the seventh installment. With this fresh addition of an experienced, flashy, and creative slasher, I can’t help but wonder…
According to the deadline, Scott Foley has signed up for the cast of Scream 7. Previously, Foley portrayed Roman Bridger, who was both Ghostface’s revealed killer and Sidney Prescott’s half-brother in Scream 3. This new development is thrilling, given that the delay on Scream 7 has ended, but it also stirs curiosity among fans. The inclusion of the actor from Felicity joining the latest chapter of the horror franchise raises many questions for us.
Didn’t Roman Bridger die like the other Ghostface Killers?
In the finale of the third installment in the franchise, the beloved fictional cop Dewey (David Arquette) ended Bridger at Sidney’s behest. Given that an actor from Scandal has been cast, there’s speculation that this could mean the resurrection of the character believed to have perished. If there’s anyone capable of orchestrating such a complex demise, it would likely be someone connected to one of the most iconic final girls in cinema. Drawing from a prominent figure in Hollywood seems fitting for such a task.
Does This Mean Roman Could’ve Faked His Own Death Before?
Although it’s generally thought unlikely due to his death being attributed to the infamous “Scream-to-make-sure-they’re-dead” defense, the world created by Wes Craven has been known for more unexpected occurrences. If this scenario holds true, we might witness a flashback scene detailing how he managed to elude his fate in the upcoming episodes.
If the plot involves intricate details or over-the-top dramatic twists, I’d be all for that. It would add a fun touch of parody to the storyline, reminiscent of the humor in the “Scream” series. Foley could portray Bridger as a long-lost kin, a zombie, or even a literal spirit. As far as I’m concerned, if the script is well-written, I’ll be eager to watch it.
How Does Scott Foley Fit In If He Isn’t Roman?
The question that troubles me the most is: Could Scott Foley’s character in Scream be an unexpected and unrelated addition to the film director? It seems highly unlikely, but let’s consider the possibility. If this is true, I hope it will emulate David Lynch’s eccentric characters from Twin Peaks, yet even they have some sort of family connection. I guess we’ll have to wait for the die-hard fans to figure out what’s in store for Scott Foley and Scream.
We’ll just have to watch and find out how the returning actor will perform and what role he’ll take on when the movie comes out in February 2026. To be honest, I’m starting to move past the dismissal of Melissa Berrara now that we know about the established cast members and new additions. The established cast includes Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown. Among the newcomers are Isabel May portraying Prescott’s daughter, Joel McHale as Sidney’s husband, along with Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Anna Camp and Mark Consuelos.
Regarding the earlier Ghostface slasher, many questions are on our minds that will hopefully be addressed soon. As we eagerly await the arrival of Scream 7, take this opportunity to revisit the series and catch up with the Ghostface saga.
