Kim Jones has formally resigned from his position as the artistic director of Dior Men, marking a conclusion to an epoch at Dior. The house declared that following his leadership over the menswear line since 2018, the British designer showcased his final collection, Fall 2025.
Jones’ departure had been widely anticipated, with whispers intensifying during the recent Paris Menswear Fashion Week. Now, after receiving France’s highest honor, the chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur from long-time friend and Vogue’s Anna Wintour, Jones departs Dior with a wealth of memories and ambitions to reflect upon.
Delphine Arnault, chairperson and CEO of Dior, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for Kim Jones’ exceptional work in a public statement. She praised his studio and the ateliers for consistently reimagining Dior’s heritage with a unique blend of creativity and freedom of expression, as well as for their impressive artistic collaborations that have added to the house’s allure.
In response, Kim Jones also expressed his gratitude towards LVMH and the Dior team, stating that it was an immense privilege to create collections for the House of Dior, a symbol of unparalleled excellence. He thanked his studio and the ateliers who brought his designs to life, as well as the artists and friends he collaborated with during his tenure. Lastly, Jones expressed sincere gratitude towards Bernard and Delphine Arnault for their unwavering support throughout his journey.
Before launching his own brand in the years between 2003 and 2008, having graduated from Central St. Martins College of Art and Design, Jones served as Louis Vuitton’s artistic director for men’s ready-to-wear starting in 2011. During this five-year stint, he introduced significant blends of streetwear and luxury fashion, such as the introduction of Supreme branded items to LV, which ignited a skatewear trend throughout the 2010s and beyond.
From 2018 until 2025, Jones has been the artistic director for Dior Homme. At this position, he has continued his practice of collaborations, partnering with KAWS in his first show, followed by Shawn Stussy, Eli Russell Linnetz, and Stone Island. Additionally, he debuted the first-ever Dior Men’s couture collection.
From 2020 to 2024, Jones has taken on the role of artistic director for Fendi’s women’s collection, a position previously held by Karl Lagerfeld.
Earlier this month, when Jones unveiled his Fall 2025 collection, there were many speculations that it might be his final one. Unlike his typical vibrant palette, this collection showcased subdued tones, hinting at the somber mood of the season. Given the emotional undertones, it seems increasingly clear that this collection was a glimpse into Jones’ time with Dior. The collection leaves behind a sense of melancholy as the fashion world prepares for Jones’ departure from Dior. TopMob had the opportunity to be backstage at his last show and attended the event itself. It remains uncertain where Jones will move on to next.
