Anticipated action films are worth the wait, and our patience has been rewarded as, following a four-year gap, the highly anticipated thriller by “The Raid” director Gareth Evans is finally set to stream later this year. Previous speculation suggested that the action-packed movie would run for an extended 2 hours and 30 minutes. However, during yesterday’s “Next on Netflix” event, Evans unveiled the actual runtime. Though it’s shorter than initially thought, this potentially works in its favor.
At the “Next on Netflix” gathering, I briefly visited the city recently, where along with the talented @jessie_mei_li, I discussed Havoc and previewed a sneak peek of our upcoming trailer. The teaser will be available soon!
It was a pleasure, after all these years since production started, to finally delve deeply into discussions about the movie. A big thank you goes out to @rajivnathwani and @edibow for their generous compliments on the film, as well as for guiding me through my ramblings filled with anecdotes and behind-the-scenes facts – I hope some of those tidbits were enlightening.
And just to make things clear, I’ve heard some buzz about it: The movie’s runtime is quite compact at approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes (including credits), and it’s scheduled to release this spring. I apologize for being vague – I can’t reveal the specific date just yet!
‘Havoc’ Finds Tom Hardy Fighting His Way Through the Criminal Underworld
Under the direction of Gareth Evans, renowned for action masterpieces like “The Raid” and its sequel, “The Raid 2”, along with the crime drama series “Gangs of London”, Tom Hardy will star in this high-octane action journey. Accompanying him will be Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker and Timothy Olyphant, famous for his roles in “Justified” and “The Mandalorian”. The rest of the supporting cast includes Xelia Mendes-Jones, Justin Cornwell, Jessie Mei Li, Yeo Yann Yann, Quelin Sepulveda, Luis Guzmán, Sunny Pang, and Michelle Waterson. For more details about “Havoc”, you can read its official synopsis below.
In the aftermath of a botched drug transaction, a tenacious detective embarks on an action-packed journey through the city’s crime syndicates to save a prominent political figure’s child. Along the way, he untangles a complex network of deceit and collusion that has gripped his metropolis tightly.
As we eagerly anticipate the debut of the first trailer for the film “Havoc”, Evans has given us a sneak peek at what we can look forward to from Tom Hardy in this high-octane action spectacle. The director, discussing his collaboration with the star of “Venom” and “Mad Max: Fury Road”, stated, “For a movie called ‘HAVOC’, with me and Tom Hardy on board, we definitely deliver on the action front. That’s our main priority. However, what you also get from Tom is an incredibly powerful central performance and a well-rounded character. There’s a lot more to him than just muscle.
