A staple of cable’s reality TV landscape is moving to streaming.
In an unexpected turn of events, Peacock has secured the rights to the popular show “Married at First Sight” through a deal with its producer, Kinetic Content. This contract involves a multi-season promise for the series, which has been on air for over ten years, predominantly on Lifetime and boasts more than 300 episodes.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that “Married at First Sight” will soon be part of Peacock’s impressive unscripted lineup, joining popular shows like “Love Island” and “The Traitors”. This shift in programming is overseen by Bravo chief Frances Berwick, following a reorganization within NBCUniversal’s TV business. Interestingly, this move signifies a change for “Married at First Sight”, as it has been a staple on Lifetime since 2017 and traditionally aired two seasons annually.
More to come.
