The dentist to the monsters is returning.
Dan Stevens, known for his portrayal of beloved character Trapper in the movie “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” by Legendary, is currently discussing the possibility of returning to his role for the upcoming Monsterverse production by the same studio.
In my gaming world, I’m excitedly sharing that I, a devoted gamer, am following the progress of “I Am Mother” director Grant Sputore as he takes the helm for the latest creature feature. This project has just welcomed its first human actor, Kaitlyn Dever, who is stepping into the franchise for the very first time. Can’t wait to see how this unfolds!
Beneath the surface of the Earth, specifics about the plot are being hidden, but Legendary has hinted that the narrative will revolve around several fresh human characters along with the cherished titans Godzilla and Kong. They will be engaging in a fierce battle against an impending global disaster.
Dave Callaham wrote the script.
Initially appearing in the film “Godzilla x Kong,” Stevens’ character, Trapper, dons a casual Hawaiian shirt over a t-shirt. His first scene involves performing risky dental procedures on Kong, replacing his infected tooth. As a relaxed veterinarian, he later becomes part of an adventure with other characters, venturing into the depths of Hollow Earth, a realm inhabited by colossal and terrifying beasts.
The Legendary Monsterverse, which debuted in 2014 with the film “Godzilla”, has been active for over ten years and has produced five movies thus far. Last year’s “Godzilla vs. Kong” was its most successful release, earning more than $571 million globally at the box office. To date, the entire Monsterverse series has grossed over $2.5 billion worldwide. Additionally, it gave rise to the popular TV series, “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters”, which is available on Apple TV+.
Continuing to make a name for himself, Stevens remains a prominent figure in the entertainment industry with frequent appearances in films and television shows. Last year, he featured in Universal’s chilling vampire thriller “Abigail” and the spine-tingling Neon horror movie “Cuckoo”. This year promises even more excitement as he is set to appear in “Zero Day”, a Netflix series led by Robert De Niro, premiering on February 20th; “Swiped”, a dramatic production from 20th Century Studios based on the founder of dating site Bumble; and AMC’s terrifying horror series “The Terror: Devil in Silver”.
He’s also just finished working on a project titled “Onslaught,” which is an action-thriller by A24 and marks his reunion with director Adam Wingard, who previously worked with him on the film “Godzilla vs. Kong.
Stevens is associated with the agencies: CAA, Julian Belfrage Associates, Bailey Brand Management, and Peikoff Mahan.
