In a Fashion Week presentation, footwear often takes a backseat compared to other elements like designer’s genius and the spectacular nature of the shows. Yet, during Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2025 Men’s, there were numerous captivating premieres on the runways and in showrooms. Reflecting on the designers’ sneaker offerings, we’ve compiled a comprehensive list of the top 10 standout moments – ranging from notable collaborations to daring new shapes.
Willy Chavarria x adidas
Willy Chavarria put his heart and soul into his debut runway show at Paris Fashion Week, which was highly praised by fashion enthusiasts. The American designer showcased collaborative designs with adidas, enhancing their unique collection that was distributed throughout the week. Notably, the Jabbar Low shoe, a collaboration between the duo first introduced last season, was reinvented in two unique versions: one with an oversized tongue and chunky silhouette, while the other adopted a slender, dress-like design. Additionally, the Forum shoe made a stylish appearance in two distinct forms. One pair was transformed into a military boot, while another featured a pointed toe and substantial heel.
Doublet x Kids Love Gaite Derby
For Fall-Winter 25, Doublet’s presentation channeled a mischievous vibe, giving their usual playful aesthetic a darker tone. A prominent feature in several runway looks was the Kids Love Gaite derby shoe, which challenges the traditional “work in front, party at back” concept. The designers have reimagined the toe to resemble a monster’s mouth, complete with hardware teeth and an opening that exposes a red underlayer.
For their Fall-Winter 25 collection, Doublet presented a more sinister version of their typically playful designs. A unique shoe design, called Kids Love Gaite derby, was featured in many looks. Instead of the traditional “work in front, party at back” concept, this shoe has the mouth of a monster on its toe. The designers have added teeth-like hardware and created an opening that reveals a red layer underneath.
Louis Vuitton ButterSoft Sneaker
At the Paris Fashion Week, Louis Vuitton is certain to put on quite a show. A notable aspect of Pharrell’s latest collaboration with Nigo was the ButterSoft sneaker, which Skateboard P had hinted at only a few days prior on Instagram. A whopping 40 color variations of the shoe, which combines elements of the Ice Cream Boardflip and the Nike Cortez, were unveiled. This suggests that the design will play a significant role in Louis Vuitton’s upcoming product releases this year.
COMME des GARÇONS Collaborations
Rei Kawakubo’s influential perspective has spawned numerous COMME des GARÇONS sub-brands and affordable lines, several of which unveiled fresh footwear collaborations for Fall/Winter 25. The Kids Love Gaite collaboration resurfaced with CdGH+, designing boots and derbies boasting a pointed toe. In partnership with Nike, CdGH+ and BLACK CdG reworked the Air Rejuven8 and Field General 82 respectively. Junya Watanabe MAN, under the broader COMME des GARÇONS banner, continued its New Balance collaboration by offering two versions of the 471 sneaker, while CdGH also joined forces with New Balance to style the 509 in two unique looks. Lastly, CdG Shirt concluded the lineup with a minimalist all-white version of the ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14.
Song for the Mute x adidas
Australia’s Song for the Mute continues to impress with adidas, releasing unique clothing and footwear collections season after season. Their recent reveal introduced two fresh sneaker designs crafted by the brand – the Taekwondo Mei and the Adizero PR. These models are available in a set of three color schemes, each featuring the standard co-branded tongue tag that is characteristic of their collaborations.
POST ARCHIVE FACTION (PAF) Collaborations
2024 saw POST ARCHIVE FACTION (PAF) and On earn the TopMob100 award for their outstanding Cloudmonster 2 collaboration in the sneaker category. For those craving more, here’s your fix! Additional stylish renditions of the sneaker were joined by another Cloudventure Peak colorway, hinting at even more collaborations to come. PAF also previewed two monochromatic versions of Clark’s Wallabee Boot, featuring fresh stitching on the upper part.
sacai x UGG
I’m thrilled to share that Sacai is collaborating with UGG once more, this time for their FW25 collection! Back in 2018, they teamed up to create a modest line that included a unique twist on the Classic Mini, featuring knit socks extending from its collar. This time, they’ve elevated their partnership to new heights, introducing three distinctive silhouettes.
Firstly, there are the thigh-high boots, lined with plush sheepskin for ultimate comfort. Their design is versatile due to a buckle system that enables easy folding downwards, offering multiple styling options.
Secondly, the Mountain Boots, despite their name suggesting otherwise, aren’t designed for hiking. Instead, they boast a sheepskin-covered tongue nestled beneath a sturdy lacing system.
Lastly, the collection includes a loafer that adds a touch of luxury with its sheepskin detailing and platform sole.
Kiko Kostadinov x ASICS
Kiko Kostadinov’s collaboration with ASICS is now in its 8th year, and they continue to push boundaries without showing any signs of slowing down. His latest creations for the brand were again featured prominently on the runway, debuting two tabi silhouettes in three different colorways each this time. The first design is a tall boot that uses a strap system wrapping around the shaft to secure it. The second design incorporates the split-toe detail on a low-top runner, with “ASICS” branding placed at the lateral midfoot. The color combinations for both models span from brown and green, blue and black, and all-black as well.
AURALEE x New Balance T500
Ryota Iwai’s label AURALEE made a return to Paris Fashion Week, showcasing another collection of refined everyday outfits and a new collaboration with New Balance on footwear. Following the launch of two 990v4 models, they are set to introduce a project involving the 475 later this season. For Fall/Winter 25, they are focusing on the T500 sneaker. Two colorways of the 1982 tennis shoe have been designed, with one featuring off-white leather and another using a mix of materials in chocolate brown and cream “N” branding on the medial side. As with past collaborations, AURALEE has kept this partnership discreet by only displaying their branding on the insoles.
Rick Owens Chain-Linked Kiss Boots
The Rick Owens’ footwear collection at Paris Fashion Week this season saw a remarkable transformation. His iconic Kiss Boots soared higher still, adorned with a chain-linked feather pattern by Victor Clavelly and crafted by Straytukay, the designer behind the latex boots resembling hooves that captured everyone’s attention during Rick Owens’ FW24 show last year. These designs were presented in simple, monochromatic outfits of black and off-white, allowing the unique silhouette to make a bold statement.
