Trump Administration Responds to Selena Gomez Crying Over Mass Deportations With Mothers of Crime Victims

The administration of Donald Trump has addressed a video posted by Selena Gomez, which she later deleted, where she was seen crying about the deportation of undocumented immigrants under the president’s tougher immigration policies.

Recently this month, a heartfelt Instagram video was posted and soon removed, where the actress and singer expressed her distress: “My people are being targeted… it’s the children. I just don’t comprehend. I’m truly sorry. I wish I could help, but I can’t seem to find a way. I’ll make every effort, I vow.

Following her removal of a tweet and encountering criticism from some Trump supporters, the star of “Only Murders in the Building” countered, “It seems I’m not allowed to express sympathy towards others.” She additionally highlighted her heritage as a third-generation Mexican-American.

On a Friday, the official White House account (previously known as Twitter) posted a video uploaded by Trump, containing testimonies from three mothers who claimed that their daughters were tragically killed by undocumented immigrants. These mothers reacted to a different video by Gomez.

In the video, it’s difficult to accept as authentic and genuine because she appears to be an actress, states Alexis Nungaray, Jocelyn Nungaray’s mother. “My daughter was just a child. There are numerous other children whose lives were lost due to people who illegally crossed the border,” she added.

Back in June 2024, I was tragically taken at the tender age of 12 in Houston, Texas, as per CNN’s reports. The Houston Police Department has since indicted two Venezuelan men who allegedly lacked proper documentation, for my murder.

As a heartbroken mother, I find myself questioning those shedding tears now. Where were they when my daughter, Kayla Hamilton, was brutally taken from us by these illegal immigrants? She was murdered, raped, beaten, and left on the cold floor. The perpetrators showed no remorse for our family’s loss. They didn’t cry for our child, yet we cried for them.

In July 2022, a 20-year-old named Hamilton was tragically taken in Aberdeen, Maryland. The alleged perpetrator, a 16-year-old from El Salvador who is in the U.S. without legal documentation and reportedly affiliated with the MS-13 gang, has been accused of the crime by WMAR-TV.

Patty Morin, Rachel Morin’s mom, expresses her belief that it’s a trick to mislead others and gain sympathy for unlawful acts. She points out that only mothers like herself have spoken up about the issue, lamenting over their children.

In August 2023, Rachel Morin, aged 37, tragically lost her life while jogging in Harford County, Maryland. It was reported by CBS News that a man from El Salvador has been accused of committing the crime.

The trio of moms commended Trump for his firm stance on immigration, following his recent return to the White House.

In response to those who have voiced objections to recent ICE raids under Trump’s new border chief, Tom Homan, he advised them to direct their concerns towards legislators instead.

The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to Gomez’s rep for comment.
