Free Blue Beetle Now Streaming

2023 saw the debut of “Blue Beetle,” one of the later films in the criticized DC Extended Universe. However, this beloved superhero is poised for a comeback in James Gunn’s revamped DC Universe, and here’s why. This standalone movie focusing on character development offers an origin story that has won praise from both critics and audiences. The charming protagonist is portrayed by Xolo Maridueña, who you might recognize from “Cobra Kai.” Luckily, catching up on the DC film is now convenient as it’s available for free streaming on Tubi.

Starting February 1st, you can stream the movie “Blue Beetle” for free on Tubi with advertisements. The story revolves around Jaime Reyes (Maridueña), a recent college graduate who gains superpowers after encountering an alien artifact, the Scarab. Guided by an AI-like voice, Jaime can create any weapon he imagines and even fly, similar to Green Lantern. This is the first live-action movie featuring a Latino superhero, and it focuses heavily on the Reyes family. With limited connections to a larger universe, “Blue Beetle” stands alone as a self-contained film that doesn’t require additional viewing for comprehension. After watching, it becomes clear why Gunn chose to keep “Blue Beetle” in the rebooted DC Universe.

Will Blue Beetle Return in the DCU?

Xolo Maridueña, who plays Jaime Reyes aka Blue Beetle, has officially joined the DC Universe (DCU) that is being revitalized by James Gunn’s Superman project. Interestingly, Blue Beetle will spearhead his own animated series, and it looks like Maridueña along with the rest of the cast from the film may reprise their roles for this new venture. In a recent announcement, Maridueña shared that he is taking part in an upcoming DC Studios’ anime, expressing his appreciation to carry on with the role even after the DCEU (DC Extended Universe) came to an end.

As a die-hard fan of DC Universe, I’m thrilled about the possibility that Blue Beetle could make a comeback in live-action, potentially in the upcoming Booster Gold series on HBO. While details are still under wraps regarding this project, whispers have been swirling that Kumail Nanjiani, who starred in Eternals, might be jumping across the Atlantic to embody the blue and gold time-traveler for DC Studios. Meanwhile, it’s been buzzing around for a while now that Danny McBride, currently wrapping up his HBO comedy The Righteous Gemstones this year, could be part of the writing team for Booster Gold.
