The Weeknd Reveals Gory Visuals for Single “Red Terror”

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that just a couple of days after its release, “Red Terror,” The Weeknd‘s fourth single off his sixth album, “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” has been accompanied by an unsettling music video. Directed by Eddie Alcazar, the visuals portray me, or rather The Weeknd, as a silent child being pursued through a foreboding forest by sinister creatures. It seems as though I’m attempting to discard my initial form while undergoing this harrowing ordeal.

As The Weeknd prepares to launch his album under his current stage name, the “Red Terror” music video feels fitting since he’s working to leave behind the persona of The Weeknd and return to being Abel. In this claymation video, fans are enthralled by its gruesome imagery, following releases like “Timeless,” featuring Playboi Carti, and the collaboration with Anitta titled “São Paulo.

Before his album’s release, The Weeknd shared with Variety that he was contemplating stepping out of the spotlight as The Weeknd. He expressed, “I was considering, ‘Maybe I’ve lost my voice; you said all there is to say.’ It was like, ‘Don’t linger at the party – you can end it now and live a content life.’ In essence, he suggested, ‘Wrap things up: Hurry Up Tomorrow?’ Well, we’re here. When should one depart if not at their prime? Once I am understood too well, then it’s time for a change.

The performer kicks off the After Hours Til Dawn 2025 Tour in May, and tickets for the general public will be available starting February 7 at 10 a.m., according to local time.
