In the last ten years, Keanu Reeves has gained fame for his ruthless portrayal of dog-loving assassin John Wick. However, he is set to depart from this violent image for a new role that promises to showcase his comedic side. This upcoming project, directed by Jonah Hill, is titled “The Siberia Project“. Not only will it reunite Reeves with Cameron Diaz for the first time since their 1996 dark comedy “Feeling Minnesota”, but it will also see him abandoning his action hero persona, as there won’t be a single karate punch involved.
As stated by Roy Wood Jr., who’s featured in the film, it’s “very humorously entertaining.” He shared as many details as possible regarding Reeves’ appearance at the Sundance Film Festival, when interviewed by ScreenRant.
I had a chat with Jonah Hill, who’s both directing and starring in the movie “Outcome”. They’re almost done with it, making minor edits. I have a feeling it will be released this year. I don’t want to cause any trouble for Apple by revealing too much, but let me tell you, it’s really funny! Contrary to expectations, Keanu Reeves doesn’t do a single karate move in the entire film. Yes, you heard that right! We’re getting comedic Keanu Reeves back. As for my character, imagine Deion Sanders as a civil rights lawyer – something completely different from what I played in “Love, Brooklyn”. That’s me in “Outcome”.
Keanu Reeves Has Made Some Surprising Appearances Recently
Known primarily for his action roles in “The Matrix” series and “John Wick,” Keanu Reeves is more than just an action movie star. His filmography, in fact, spans across various genres, from the humorous adventures of “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” and its sequels to the chilling thrills of “The Devil’s Advocate,” and even superhero films like “Constantine.” Throughout his career, Reeves has strived to provide a diverse collection of movies and TV shows that cater to different tastes.
Over the past few years, Keanu Reeves has not only starred in the popular “John Wick” series but also lent his vocal talents. He voiced Duke Kaboom in “Toy Story 4”, Batman in “DC League of Super-Pets”, Shadow the Hedgehog in multiple “Sonic the Hedgehog” projects, including the upcoming 2024 sequel, a character in Amazon’s groundbreaking video game series “Secret Level”, and even made an appearance as the voice of the Animated Lumon Administrative Building in Apple TV+’s hit show “Severance”. The role was uncredited.
In 2020 and 2021, Keanu Reeves reprised his roles as Ted in “Bill & Ted Face the Music” and Neo in “The Matrix Resurrections”, respectively. This year, he’s set to appear again as John Wick in the spinoff movie “Ballerina”. There have been long-standing rumors about a sequel to “Constantine”, which now seems to be in production, along with a fourth “Bill & Ted” film. However, it’s important to note that Reeves isn’t solely relying on his past successes for future hits. In addition to an upcoming project titled “Outcome”, he is also scheduled to appear in the action movie “BRZRKR”, the satirical comedy “The Entertainment System Is Down”, and another comedy, “Good Fortune” alongside Keke Palmer. With so much Keanu on the horizon, there should be something for everyone to enjoy!
