Back in late January, I was thrilled to learn about Tissot extending their long-term marketing deal with the NBA, WNBA, and NBA G League. To celebrate this exciting news, they’ve unveiled a brand new NBA Supersport 2025 Special Edition watch!
This exclusive model not only embodies a sporty style but also incorporates careful design elements that celebrate basketball. By bringing the allure of the game onto your wrist, it pays tribute to basketball culture. Housed within a 45mm case made from black PVD-coated stainless steel, it showcases a bezel reminiscent of the NBA’s 24-second shot clock, while color accents subtly reflect the league’s spirit.
The dial, featuring a pattern resembling a basketball and shading from dark gray to black, gives the impression of depth similar to the ball’s shape. Numbered markers that look like sports jerseys and the NBA logo add to the sport’s tribute. To match, the dial’s unique texture, the strap is made of two materials – rubber, synthetic materials, and leather. Designed to mimic a basketball, the strap is finished with red and blue stitching as accents.
This timepiece proudly displays the NBA emblem at its core, encircled by the cities and states where the teams derive their names. With a quartz chronograph movement, this watch ensures precise timekeeping with minimal upkeep, making it perfect for timing sprints, drills, or shot attempts. The Tissot NBA Supersport 2025 Special Edition watch is currently exclusive to the U.S. and France through the brand, but starting in March, it will be accessible in other regions as well.
In their fresh partnership with the NBA, Tissot is not only teaming up but also unveiling an innovative, modernized shot clock and timing system. The revamped shot clock showcases cutting-edge technology and boasts a sleek round design, drawing inspiration from Tissot’s rich watchmaking history. This new design incorporates full RGB LED light strips, offering a wide range of colors for a visually appealing experience.
This innovative technology is set to boost game experience and basketball management, incorporating the green coaches’ challenge signal and refining the user interface for smooth functioning. The portable design, made of lightweight aluminum and featuring a modular structure, makes installation, maintenance, and future updates effortless. The upcoming shot clocks are scheduled to debut in arenas from the 2025-26 NBA season and the 2026 WNBA season onwards.
