Seiko’s Latest Presage Craftsmanship Timepiece Features a White Enamel Dial

Seiko unveils a fresh piece in their Presage Collection, adorned with a Detailed Enamel Dial marked with Roman Numerals. This watch honors Seiko’s rich legacy of accurate timekeeping and recognizes their classic railway watch designs.

The recently introduced Presage watch, modeled under the reference SPB495J1, draws inspiration from one of Seiko’s early masterpieces – the 1895 Pocket Watch, which carries significance as one of the brand’s pioneering efforts in precision timekeeping. This historical tie-in underscores Seiko’s lasting dedication to precision and artistry.

1929 marked the historic occasion when the brand’s Type 19 Pocket Watch was officially recognized as a railway watch in Japan. This unique timepiece maintained the traditional appearance and size of a fob watch, but its design underwent consistent improvements for heightened precision and readability.

The latest Presage watch accurately replicates the dial of the original Timekeeper, showcasing a white enamel dial embellished with a rail track design that circles around its edge. Roman numerals are elegantly placed on it, while the hands are coated in metallic blue, adding a splash of color to the minimalist design.

The SPB495J1 watch is powered by Seiko’s own 6R5H automatic movement, featuring a 24-hour indicator located at 6 o’clock, a three-day power reserve, and an accuracy of between -15 to +25 seconds per day. This timepiece is equipped with a black leather strap made from materials sourced from a Leather Working Group (LWG)-certified tannery, providing both high quality and eco-friendly assurances.

Currently up for pre-sale, the SPB495J1 can be purchased through the Seiko Boutique online store at a cost of approximately 1,280 GBP (around 1,576 USD).
