SF1OG FW25 Hits the Club in Shutter Shades

SF1OG Berlin fashion brand embraces a blend of nostalgia and contemporary trends, creating collections rich in historical references yet adhering to future standards. They prioritize sustainability, gender equality, and superior craftsmanship. For their Fall 2025 collection, they delved into the past, focusing on the year 2008 – a time when Kanye West reintroduced the controversial Shutter Shades – for an exhilarating indie sleaze revival reminiscent of the iconic Berghain nightclub in Berlin.

Jacob Lagemeyere, one of the brand’s co-directors, shared that they aimed to delve into the topic of uniforms, yet not in a traditional military sense. Instead, they chose to examine it within the realms of music subcultures, particularly those that emerged during his teenage years around the late 2000s. Their interests spanned from electronic artists to indie rock bands.

SF1OG’s attire – unfastened jackets exposing bare skin, see-through tops with off-center designs, slim fit pants with low belts, leather rocker pants and furry cravats – would probably win the favor of the stringent bouncers at the rowdy venue. Meanwhile, the brand’s adaptation of the iconic Shutter Shades, jointly developed with Berlin-based 3D design studio NEWFORMAT, directly references a specific era. Although the shattered eyepieces might struggle to gain entry into the party, they serve as an enjoyable throwback nonetheless.

As a devotee, let me share some trivia: SF1OG stands for “Seitenflügel 1. Obergeschoss,” which means “side wing first floor” in German. This term holds a special significance as it reflects the starting point of our brand’s journey, Dahl’s one-room flat, back in 2019. To orchestrate the gathering of Berlin Fashion Week’s luminaries within one of the city’s most prestigious clubs only six years later is an accomplishment truly worthy of admiration.
