Based on the manga “Oni Goroshi” by Masamichi Kawabe, it breathes life into a gripping and brutal narrative about a renowned assassin who, following the murder of his wife and daughter, reactivates his lethal abilities for a bloody quest of vengeance. Netflix Will Deliver Action Movie Thrills With This Tale of the “Immortal Hit Man”

In this new film titled “Demon City,” Seiji Tanaka, a director recognized for his debut feature “Melancholic” (2018 crime drama) which earned him the Best Director award at the Tokyo International Film Festival, takes the helm and shares screenplay duties. This action-packed thriller revolves around Tôma Ikuta portraying Shuhei Sakata, also known as the “Immortal Hit Man.” After rising from the underworld, he morphs into an indomitable demon to seek vengeance for his family.

The main cast is made up of well-recognized Japanese actors such as Masahiro Higashide, Mio Tanaka, Ami Touma, Taro Suruga, Mai Kiryu, Naoto Takenaka, Takuma Otoo, Masanobu Takashima, and Matsuya Onoe. To complement the movie, renowned guitarist Tomoyasu Hotei provides the soundtrack, which heightens “the film’s intensity” and gives a powerful and daring emotional undertone to Sakata’s unyielding quest for vengeance, as described by Netflix.

Although the main narrative concluded triumphantly with the impressive “John Wick: Chapter 4,” recent murmurs about “John Wick 5” aren’t particularly encouraging, but fret not! The universe is set to explode with new content, including an anime series, a TV show, and various spin-offs currently in development.

The first of these spin-offs, titled “From the World of John Wick: Ballerina,” will debut in June, starring Ana de Armas as she takes the reins of a budding assassin embarking on her own journey for vengeance.
