Netflix’s 2025 India Slate: 6 Films, 13 Series, 5 Unscripted Hits Revealed

Netflix has revealed its content plan for India’s growing streaming market by 2025. Shared on Monday in Mumbai, the new lineup of Indian productions offers a wide variety of themes, with six movies, 14 series, and five unscripted projects planned – however, it is more focused compared to previous years (Netflix produced up to 40 original Indian titles in 2021).

Monika Shergill, Netflix’s VP of content in India, shared that our 2025 collection will be diverse and engaging, featuring everything from nail-biting dramas and exciting heist stories to charming romantic comedies and pulse-pounding action films. Regarding the film side, Shergill mentioned significant projects such as Aryan Khan’s grand Bollywood-themed series, titled “The Bads of Bollywood,” and Siddharth Anand’s high-stakes drama, “Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins,” which promise grandeur and excitement for the slate. In addition, Shergill emphasized the slate’s strong romantic comedy offering, with shows like “Aap Jaisa Koi,” “The Royals,” “Nadaaniyan,” and “Dhoom Dhaam” blending timeless romance themes with a modern twist while adding humor to create an enjoyable experience. Established series like “Khakee,” “Rana Naidu,” “Kohrra,” and “Delhi Crime” will also return, promising captivating new storylines for 2025.

As a passionate gamer, I’m always on the lookout for thrilling adventures, and that’s exactly what Netflix is delivering in India with their ongoing investment in crime and action projects. Just like how I immerse myself in exciting video game worlds, “Mandala Murders” offers a captivating mystery infused with mystical elements, while “Dabba Cartel” takes us on an intense thrill ride that challenges our perception of power and control. “Glory” is no exception; it plunges us deep into the heart-pumping drama of a family’s relentless quest for an Olympic medal, where raw emotion and unyielding ambition reign supreme.

Distinctive programs within the lineup that could create a stir are:
– The unscripted show Dining With The Kapoors, providing a behind-the-scenes look at Bollywood’s blue bloods during dinner conversations,
– Comedian Vir Das’ latest stand-up performance,
– And the Hindi-commentated live broadcast of WWE events on Netflix.
