Sylvester Stallone, Ex-Activision Blizzard Top Exec Back AI Analytics Firm Largo.ai in $7.5M Investment

As an enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve become part of Largo.ai’s success story. This innovative company offers AI-powered analytics solutions tailored for the film, TV, and advertising sectors. Recently, they concluded a Series A funding round, attracting a significant $7.5 million investment. Notable investors include Sylvester Stallone and Thomas Tippl, the former COO of gaming titan Activision Blizzard, now under Microsoft’s wing. It’s exciting to be associated with such an innovative and promising venture!

In a recent development, Sylvester Stallone, who has been designated alongside Jon Voight and Mel Gibson as a “special envoy” in Hollywood for U.S. President Donald Trump to promote local film and TV production, has chosen to collaborate with Largo.ai as a strategic ally.

The funding round was jointly spearheaded by TI Capital, based in Los Angeles, and QBIT Capital, which has offices in both Switzerland and Los Angeles. Additionally, Atreides Management from Boston and DAA Capital participated in the fundraising process.

The $7.5 million investment, arriving amidst ongoing debates about AI in Hollywood, is earmarked for Largo.ai’s expansion and main operations. As they have already gained broad acceptance within the film and TV industries, working with more than 600 companies including multiple Hollywood studios and prominent agencies, Largo.ai will unveil its Version 3 to the market. This new version will offer practical suggestions alongside its existing tools, and create early creative ideas that resemble the final production stages’ appearance. The company announced this on Monday.

As Sami Arpa, CEO and co-founder of Largo.ai, stated back in 2020: “Initially, artificial intelligence in filmmaking was primarily the territory of streaming giants. Our goal with Largo.ai was to bring parity to the industry, which has been more conventional up until now. With the integration of technologies like ChatGPT into our daily lives over the past two years and a decreasing fear surrounding AI, its adoption rate is rapidly increasing.

I’ve come to realize: “The public has finally seen the boundless possibilities in utilizing AI as a tool for content creation. It’s all about making the process more efficient, effortless, and safer. We feel incredibly honored to have been leading this revolution, and with the backing of our investors and partners who align with our vision, we can now boldly explore new frontiers in AI integration for the film and advertising sectors.

Established in 2020 through partnership with Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Largo.ai operates from its base in Lausanne, Switzerland, but also maintains offices in Los Angeles, London, and Istanbul. The company claims to have scrutinized over 400,000 films and TV shows, 950,000 talents, 59,000 screenplays, and more than 200,000 advertisements in order to educate AI systems. Largo.ai received the accolade of Best New Start-up at the San Sebastian Film Festival.

Largo.ai’s core technologies, protected by patents, use an innovative method to comprehend content by examining cinematic structures and mimicking real human actions. This dual approach forms the basis for sophisticated AI models that evaluate a project’s structural elements, strengths and weaknesses, anticipated emotional responses from audiences, demographic appeal, and projected audience size. Furthermore, these methods offer both qualitative and quantitative insights into audience tastes.

At this year’s Berlin Film Festival 2025, Largo.ai is organizing a session titled “Pitch Perfect: AI Analyzes Producers’ Projects.” During the event, 20 producers will present their projects in development to be evaluated by Largo.ai’s platform for audience appeal and identifying both the strengths and weaknesses of each story.
