Exoloper launches next week, bringing heavy metal action to mobile

  • Exoloper, the mech battle simulator from the makers of Interloper, hits storefronts February 10th
  • Take on enemy mechs in your fight to free your homeworld from the nefarious Commonwealth
  • Try out a free campaign and decide if you want to go for another, premium, section

As a gaming enthusiast, there’s one genre I truly miss on mobile platforms – immersive heavy metal mech action. You know, the kind that made games like Mechwarrior legendary, both for digital and tabletop gamers. Regrettably, single-player mech simulators have been scarce, but fortunately, that seems to be changing now.

Since we discussed Exoloper back in October last year, it plunges you directly into the cockpit of your personal mech. Yes, instead of a top-down strategy approach, this offers a head-to-head, intense metal combat experience in first person. If you’ve been yearning for a mobile version of Mechwarrior, then perhaps this could be just what you’re looking for.

It’s important to note that the game Exoloper is being developed by Anchorite Games, who are also known for creating Interloper, a space battle simulator we enjoyed. Excitingly, Exoloper is due to be released on storefronts next week, on February 10th, so you won’t have to wait long to find out if it meets their high standards!

Judgement & Retribution

The genre of games featuring mechanical combat is quite specialized and often caters to a limited audience. Games like Mechwarrior were popular during the late 90s and early 2000s, but since then, only a few notable titles such as Mechwarriors 5 and Clans have emerged. It’s therefore surprising to find a game resembling a successor of Mechwarrior on iOS platforms, where it may not offer the same level of detail in terms of mech simulation as its predecessors, but it promises an engaging experience nonetheless.
