In discussion, the video under scrutiny, amassing over 2.4 million views on platform X, hails from XX-XY Athletics. This innovative apparel brand, conceived by author Jennifer Sey, focuses on empowering women and promoting women’s sports. A concept that may have seemed ordinary a decade back.
Not these days.
XX-XY Athletics maintains that transgender women should not compete against biologically female athletes on the sports field. This controversial topic reaches far back, originating in sports arenas and later becoming intertwined with broader societal debates, or what are now commonly known as cultural conflicts.
The progressive Rowling is no stranger to the latter.
In 2020, she expressed criticisms towards certain aspects of the contemporary transgender movement. An unprecedented backlash, often referred to as a Cancel Culture storm, arose against her.
1. She faced physical intimidation, received harsh criticism in the media, and had her name erased from public areas. Yet, she remained resilient, unyielding in her stance.
2. She was subjected to physical threats, attacked in the press, and found her name being eliminated from public venues. Despite this, she stood firm, not wavering an inch in her beliefs.
3. She endured physical menace, media assault, and had her name taken off public sites. However, she stood strong, unbending in her convictions.
4. She faced physical danger, was maligned in the press, and had her name scrubbed from public places. Regardless, she remained steadfast, unmoved from her stance.
5. She encountered physical peril, was denounced in the media, and found her name erased from public spaces. In spite of this, she stood tall, unyielding in her position.
I’m thrilled to report that she not only made it through, but she’s also bagged a pivotal part in Max’s upcoming “Harry Potter” spin-off! This proves that the corporate world didn’t write her off, despite some progressive circles seemingly doing so.
Her latest social media post proves she’s not done speaking out.

The message comes at a critical time in the debate over women and sports.
President Donald Trump has joined forces with J.K. Rowling and others, reflecting the general sentiment of the public. It appears that most Americans strongly oppose transgender women participating in sports alongside biologically female athletes.
The recently released video is connected to the “Real Girls Rock” initiative by XX-XY Athletics, which coincides with February 5th’s National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
In a press release, Sey stated, “Individuals who have the courage to take a stand for what’s right show incredible moral fortitude. It’s common for people to prefer following the crowd instead of speaking truthfully and doing what’s right.” He continued, “The athletes depicted in our film exemplify that sports arenas can be places where young people learn to become strong, brave individuals.” Finally, he added, “We wanted to acknowledge their bravery with this movie, as few other brands have the conviction to do so.
Previously crowned U.S. National Gymnastics champion, Sey, expressed gratitude towards J.K. Rowling for her backing, as they both shared strong opinions against stringent COVID-19 regulations.
Think of it as a short film and not an ad. Then it feels less weird.
