Zac Efron Joins Will Ferrell in Amazon Comedy

Zac Efron will be acting alongside Will Ferrell in a yet-to-be-titled comedy, directed by Nicholas Stoller, for Amazon and MGM.

Stoller also wrote the script, which at one point was titled Judgement Day.

The narrative unfolds around a recently released criminal, who finds himself embroiled in a hostage situation at a reality TV courtroom. He accuses the eccentric judge portrayed by Ferrell, of a previous verdict he believes has devastated his life.

Efron will star as the convict.

Under his Stoller Global Solutions label, Stoller is responsible for the production, whereas Ferrell is handling it through his Gloria Sanchez Productions company. Additionally, Jessica Elbaum and Alex Brown from Gloria Sanchez Productions are also involved in the production process.

Currently, the project boasts two main leads and a director who’s rejoining the streaming service titan. In the production titled “You’re Cordially Invited“, Ferrell will be sharing the screen with Reese Witherspoon. Directed by Stoller, it premiered on January 30th, taking the first position in the company’s sales rankings.

Efron shone as a key actor in the comedy “Ricky Stanicky,” directed by Peter Farrelly, that premiered on Amazon Prime Video just recently.
