As a passionate food enthusiast, I recently had the privilege of being part of the grand opening of the newest culinary sensation in town, Amaya Modern Mexican. The event was nothing short of spectacular, with special assistance from none other than model extraordinaire and 818 Tequila founder, Kendall Jenner.
Situated on the second floor of the five-star resort, The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas – a blend of youthful exuberance and luxury – is where Michelin-starred Chef Jason McLeod’s latest venture commenced its residency on January 31. This grand opening was marked by a VIP event, hosted by the supermodel, who also served specialty cocktails and shots from her own 818 Tequila line. The venue offered an enchanting ambiance with its vibrant coastal cuisine, while Jenner donned a deep purple two-piece set reminiscent of the ’90s, teamed with black strappy heels.
With three decades of diverse international culinary expertise under his belt, notably winning two Michelin stars at his Chicago restaurant RIA, Chef McLeod now shares his exceptional knack for flavor at Amaya. The menu here showcases daring, emotional, and spicy dishes. Standout items include the Birria Short Rib, Lobster Enchiladas, Amaya’s Surf & Turf, and Angry Fish – a whole fish grilled to perfection, garnished with mustard greens, fermented chiles, and garlic butter sauce, accompanied by grilled tortillas.
As I immerse myself in the vibrant world of Amaya, each meal is not just about savoring their unique cocktails crafted with innovative flair or relishing their impressive selection of aged tequilas and mezcals, but also about experiencing the living art that unfolds around me. From captivating live performances to pulsating DJ sets, every visit transports me to the lush, elegant atmosphere of the Yucatán Peninsula, making each moment a memorable part of my gaming journey.
Amaya Modern Mexican restaurant is now accepting online bookings for your convenience. Here’s their schedule: They are open Monday through Thursday from 11 in the morning until 10:30 at night, on Fridays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
In February, you can look forward to the debut of Netflix Bites Vegas, an interactive restaurant in Las Vegas featuring dishes inspired by popular Netflix shows. Additionally, the “MrBeast Experience” at Resorts World is scheduled for April, offering a three-night stay complete with on-site activities, exclusive merchandise, and prizes.
