For movie enthusiasts, the Super Bowl is often the first opportunity to catch a glimpse of footage from upcoming films. Even though the 2025 film lineup already sounds promising on paper, experiencing the excitement for what lies ahead is a unique and special feeling. With Scarlett Johansson’s ensemble blockbuster Jurassic World Rebirth particularly piquing my interest due to my fervor as a fan, I must admit that it appears to be quite an exhilarating experience.
Up until now, information about Jurassic World 4 has been relatively scarce, which is why fans have eagerly awaited the first teaser trailer from Universal Pictures. As previously hinted in this week’s sneak peek featuring Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey‘s new characters, the DNA of the franchise’s past will play a significant role in this upcoming sci-fi thriller scheduled for release on July 2nd. In fact, there were definite Jurassic Park: The Lost World undertones as we saw the duo navigating long grass with a velociraptor and struggling to survive on an island teeming with dinosaurs.
Enthusiast of the Jurassic Park Universe, I find myself buzzing with anticipation upon hearing that David Koepp, a renowned screenwriter from the original 1993 and 1997 sequel films, is back. Koepp guarantees no conflicts with established lore for the upcoming film, Jurassic World Rebirth. This movie will continue the narrative without disruptions, given that it takes place five years after the events of Dominion, connecting to both the original trilogy and the Jurassic World series.

After settling the formalities, let’s dive into the main topic at hand. So far, the dinosaur tour has been light on actual dinosaurs as promised by Rebirth, with few prehistoric creatures visible in their entirety. The footage released so far shows various dinosaurs, often portrayed as attacking or injuring human characters. We spot a Mosasaurus in the water, several raptors, and pterodactyls too. The team on this expedition aims to gather DNA from different dinosaurs, which implies that there’ll likely be a persistent risk of danger throughout.
It seems that the upcoming “Jurassic” film is returning to its roots, considering that “Dominion” had a heavier focus on insects rather than dinosaurs (as our review suggests). With stars like Scarlett Johansson and heartthrob Jonathan Bailey leading the narrative, it’s likely that many viewers will flock to cinemas when the next blockbuster, titled “Jurassic World: Rebirth,” premieres in summer 2025. We’ll simply have to be patient and find out if more links to the prior two trilogies emerge as we approach the film’s release date.
