Captain America: Brave New World

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the addition of Deadpool, Wolverine, and Kelsey Grammar’s Beast hint at the arrival of mutants, or X-Men. The upcoming film, Captain America: Brave New World, is set to contribute significantly to this development, as suggested by its latest trailer, which teases the introduction of adamantium within the MCU. Moreover, Nate Moore, the producer of Captain America: Brave New World, stated that this movie has a crucial role to play before the official integration of the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In my perspective, while discussing with ComicBook.com, Nate Moore highlighted that our team has been carefully planting seeds for the arrival of the X-Men, using projects like Brave New World and previous hints about mutants. This way, when they finally appear, it won’t seem forced or rushed, but rather a natural progression. As he put it, “We were consciously sowing the ground as we move towards introducing the X-Men,” ensuring the experience isn’t overwhelming with too many new concepts at once.

Wakanda Forever is a mutant. Similarly, we subtly suggested that Ms. Marvel might be one too at the end of her series. Our aim is to gradually introduce these possibilities so that as we develop this concept, it appears as if it’s naturally unfolding in our storyline, not something abruptly introduced mid-series.

In a fresh take on the events unveiled in the newest trailer for “Captain America: Brave New World,” it was disclosed that the deceased Cosmic Entity submerged in the sea holds adamantium. This revelation serves a dual purpose, as fans of X-Men will swiftly identify adamantium as the metal enveloping Wolverine’s skeleton, which is significantly more robust than the vibranium that forges Captain America’s shield.

When Are the X-Men Coming to the MCU?

Fans of Marvel have been anxiously anticipating the arrival of mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) ever since Disney purchased 21st Century Fox in 2019, which enabled Marvel Studios to reclaim the X-Men rights. While an X-Men film has indeed been announced by Kevin Feige, progress on the project has moved at a snail’s pace. The most significant development concerning the movie was revealed following the SAG-AFTRA strikes in 2023, when it was disclosed that Marvel Studios were actively searching for scriptwriters for this much-anticipated production. To date, there hasn’t been any official announcement regarding a release date or window for the MCU’s X-Men movie.

There’s a strong anticipation among fans that the X-Men will first appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Avengers: Secret Wars, a movie speculated to reboot the MCU’s Multiverse Storyline. This reboot would pave the way for one of Marvel’s most beloved and renowned superhero teams to enter the scene. Although some X-Men characters, such as Deadpool, Wolverine, and Beast, have previously made appearances in the MCU, it remains uncertain if their roles will be recast at a later point.
