The following actors – Robert Downey Jr., Emma Stone, Cillian Murphy, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph – have been announced as the initial lineup of presenters at the 2025 Academy Awards.
On Wednesday, all four presenters ended up taking home an Academy Award at last year’s ceremony. Last year, Downey Jr. was awarded the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Lewis Strauss in Christopher Nolan’s film “Oppenheimer”. In a similar vein, Murphy, who played the lead character Robert Oppenheimer, won the Best Actor award. Randolph received the Best Supporting Actress accolade for her performance in “The Holdovers”, and Stone was recognized with the Best Actress award for her role in Yorgos Lanthimos’ film “Poor Things”.
Indeed, Stone had previously taken home the Best Actress award for her role in “La La Land” back in 2017. Last year saw the first-ever Oscar victory for Downey Jr., although he had been nominated on two previous occasions. The same goes for Murphy and Randolph.
Typically, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences doesn’t reveal who will present in each category ahead of time, but they often have past winners of specific categories present the awards to the current nominees, following a traditional format.
The Oscars, hosted by Conan O’Brien, will be broadcasted live on ABC and available for streaming on Hulu starting March 2 at 7 p.m. Eastern Time/4 p.m. Pacific Time. In the upcoming weeks, additional presenters will be revealed.
