`Seal Goes Seal`

As a movie enthusiast, I must admit that I wasn’t anticipating any CGI-driven shock moments while streaming the 2025 Super Bowl on February 9. However, viewers should brace themselves for one such surprise, courtesy of Mountain Dew. To be honest, I thought the Totino’s pizza ad starring Sam Richardson and Tim Robinson had already pushed the boundaries of “WTF.” But Mountain Dew has upped the ante, transforming pop icon Seal into an overly animated seal.

Back in the day when the movie “Batman Forever” boosted the recognition of “Kiss from a Rose,” sung by Seal, making him a common name in every household, it was hard to predict the unfortunate consequences that would surface decades later in parody versions. Now, take a look at this Mountain Dew Super Bowl ad featuring Becky G and Seal reenacting as “Seal.” If you’re brave enough!

I find myself overwhelmed with numerous unanswered queries that persistently linger in my mind.

  • Is Becky G in an alternate universe transported by drinking Mountain Dew?
  • So Seal himself can co-exist in the boat as his human self along with the seal version of Seal who has apparently assimilated into “normal life” with a bunch of normal seals?
  • Why do I feel so sad that a seal can’t hold Mountain Dew in its weird, haunting fingers and enjoy it?
  • Does the animal realize this is a song parody, or does it think the words and melody are completely original?

Similar to the actor resembling Jason Momoa in the Super Bowl commercial, he states, “It doesn’t add up.” Yet, despite that, it still captivates me. This sentiment mirrors the essence of the MTN Dew brand.

The strange Super Bowl stunts by Mountain Dew are just as unsettling as ever, and this year’s Seal advertisement might even surpass the creepiness of Bryan Cranston’s “Shining” reenactment or the infamous “Puppy Monkey Baby.” The sight of those peculiar flipper-like fingers on the seal is particularly unnerving for me.

More Super Bowl Ads

It’s hard not to keep watching that hilarious Super Bowl commercial featuring Channing Tatum doing a dance for Ryan Reynolds’ soccer team, and I suspect it will be equally challenging for you.

2025’s Super Bowl commercials for Mountain Dew are generating buzz, and so far, it seems that this ad is a hit among viewers. Given the mixed reactions to Snoop Dogg and Tom Brady’s anti-hate campaign, it’s safe to say that Mountain Dew’s advertisement will be well received on the internet. What’s more, fans are excited about the prospect of tasting a new Baja Blast flavor, which is widely regarded as one of the best sodas out there.

This coming Sunday promises an exceptional conclusion to the NFL season, featuring the high-stakes Super Bowl matchup, Kendrick Lamar’s anticipated halftime show, and some electrifying commercials that have already been leaked online. However, as I eagerly anticipate this event, a nagging concern arises: Will it meet the immense hype surrounding it? After all, my enthusiasm stems from being an impartial spectator, so my expectations may differ significantly from those of many other viewers.

Don’t miss out on the Super Bowl airing on Fox this coming Sunday, 9th of February at 6:30 PM Eastern Time. TopMob will provide you with real-time updates throughout the game about the most exciting moments and perhaps some unforeseen surprises!
