About a year ago, Palace established its premier store in Apgujeong-dong, a well-known district for streetwear in Seoul and one of the most affluent neighborhoods within the city. Now, this British streetwear heavyweight is preparing to launch another shopping venue in Mapo-gu, an area recognized for its vibrant youth culture and educational institutions.
The latest space was jointly created with Steve Oh, a designer who previously headed the design team for Google ATAP’s research group and now manages his own firm called OSTVO. The store’s interior idea is influenced by London’s Southbank, renowned as the birthplace of Palace skate culture, featuring brutalist interior accents, expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, exposed concrete pillars, and vast screen walls.
At Southbank, the pillars hold a distinctive role in one’s growth experience. Our design team put in considerable effort to replicate a wooden-like appearance on the concrete, which they shared with TopMob. Ultimately, our aim was to create a warm and inviting atmosphere, and we hope that people will appreciate the details and enjoy exploring them within the space.
The upcoming Seoul store for the palace is scheduled to debut on the 8th of February. Here, you can view images of the store in the gallery provided, and the location details are given below.
