`Mission: Impossible Franchise May Be Ending With Tom Cruise`

As a seasoned movie critic, I can’t help but ponder if this year’s eighth installment of the “Mission: Impossible” series, tentatively titled, will truly mark the swansong for this legendary action franchise. The latest trailer certainly seems to hint at this possibility, with snippets suggesting a plethora of Easter eggs and Tom Cruise’s character Ethan Hunt asking his team to trust him “one last time.” However, an official confirmation is yet to be made that this will indeed serve as the final mission for Hunt. Recently, director [Director’s Name] has added fuel to the speculation, hinting that this could very well be the finale of the saga.

In an interview with Empire Magazine, McQuarrie referred to “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” as the culmination of Ethan Hunt’s journey, which started with Brian De Palma’s “Mission: Impossible” all the way back in 1996.

As a film enthusiast, I eagerly anticipate what I believe will be a fitting finale to a three-decade-long narrative journey. I’m quite certain that audiences will find the chosen title apt, as it encapsulates the emotional resolution of this epic story.

McQuarrie shares some opinions as well, yet he’s less guarded about it. In contrast, the movie legend tends to keep most of his thoughts hidden.

The film is truly exceptional and I highly recommend watching it. At present, it’s challenging for me to articulate why, as it’s a story that needs to be felt rather than just explained. This movie serves as an epic, emotional odyssey spanning the entire franchise, much like the tales of Homer.

Will the ‘Mission: Impossible’ Franchise Continue Without Tom Cruise?

Even though it’s hard to envision a universe where Tom Cruise doesn’t dare his life on-screen as Ethan Hunt, the Mission: Impossible series must eventually conclude, just like every great thing does. With numerous other significant projects already in progress, such as a film directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu of The Revenant fame and a collaboration with Doug Liman from Edge of Tomorrow for a space-bound movie, it seems Cruise may be moving on to new adventures.

Absolutely, even though Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning might mark the end of Ethan Hunt’s journey, there are possibilities for the franchise to carry on without him. A fresh character could step into the limelight in Hunt’s absence, as the series has previously tried with Jeremy Renner’s IMF agent William Brandt. Could Hayley Atwell from the Marvel Cinematic Universe be next to take over from Cruise? Only time will tell.

In continuation of last year’s “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning,” where Ethan Hunt confronted a malicious AI and an old adversary, the upcoming film titled “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” is directed by Christopher McQuarrie from a script he co-authored with Erik Jendresen. The cast includes Tom Cruise, who reprises his role as Ethan Hunt, along with Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Henry Czerny as Eugene Kittridge, Vanessa Kirby as Alanna Mitsopolis, Hayley Atwell as Grace, Pom Klementieff as Paris, and Shea Whigham as Jasper Briggs. Additionally, the ensemble features Greg Tarzan Davis, Mariela Garriga, Rolf Saxon, Holt McCallany, Nick Offerman, Frederick Schmidt, Mark Gatiss, Charles Parnell, Janet McTeer, Hannah Waddingham, Lucy Tulugarjuk, Katy O’Brian, Tramell Tillman, and Stephen Oyoung.
