Last year, Jamie Lee Curtis had a packed calendar, filming both “Borderlands” with her co-stars and “The Last Showgirl” alongside Pamela Anderson. Yet, she never forgets her fans’ well-being, always keeping them uplifted. As we approach the weekend, the Academy Award-winning actress has shared a message that I believe resonates with us all at this moment.
After a long week of work stress, financial hurdles, or other life challenges, the weekend is a great time to wind down and chill. Leave it to Jamie Lee Curtis to give us a gentle reminder of that on Instagram as her latest (literal) fashion statement sends a message we can all relate to on TGIF Day:

On a Friday, that T-shirt is just the thing to show off with pride! It might seem tempting to tackle every challenge in a single day or less, but some issues are simply too complex to be resolved immediately. As Jamie Lee Curtis wisely puts it, we must face each day as it comes: “one day at a time!” Indeed, it’s crucial to focus on what we can manage now and leave the rest for another moment in time.
Jamie Lee Curtis’ compassion towards those requiring emotional support in dealing with mental health issues is truly commendable, given her significant role in breaking down the stigma associated with it through her on-screen portrayals of characters grappling with these issues. In the upcoming movie, Halloween Kills, she emphasized that this Blumhouse production stands out among its predecessors due to its focus on women’s trauma and providing a platform for their voices. Given Laurie Strode’s life-long struggle against a masked killer, her emotional turmoil is understandable. Yet, each movie has depicted her regaining her strength bit by bit.
As a dedicated movie enthusiast, I must say it was truly captivating to see Jamie Lee Curtis breathe life into Carmy’s mom in that gripping Christmas episode of The Bear. Her portrayal of a woman battling alcoholism and borderline personality disorder was nothing short of spectacular. She masterfully depicted the turmoil and unpredictability that mental health conditions can inflict upon a family, offering a poignant glimpse into the intricacies of these disorders. By embracing such challenging roles, the legendary actress from Trading Places is shedding light on the intricate complexities of mental health disorders and highlighting the indomitable spirit required to persevere.
On the topic of Fridays, it’s hard not to associate the day with the upcoming release of Jamie Lee Curtis’ 2025 film, “Freaky Friday,” which isn’t just a conversation anymore – it’s in production! Filming kicked off last June and wrapped up in August. The storyline revolves around Lindsay Lohan’s character Anna, who now has a teenage daughter and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As two families merge, there’s bound to be some family drama, leading to another round of body-swapping shenanigans. Chad Michael Murray is among the original cast members returning, along with Pinkslip bandmates, Mark Harmon, Stephen Tobolowsky, and others. This Disney reunion is a dream come true for us fans!
Jamie Lee Curtis’ down-to-earth advice about being “compassionate” and focusing on “each day separately” is something that resonates with us all. Despite the turbulence of life, it’s essential for each of us to make use of weekends and Fridays as opportunities to pause, recharge, and savor the present moment. As we approach summer, our Fridays are about to get a lot more intriguing, because Freaky Friday will be in theaters on August 8th. Until then, you can catch up with the original film through your Disney+ subscription.
