Tim Dillon Calls ‘Emilia Perez’ a Daily Wire/Matt Walsh Parody

Tim Dillon has seen the infamous “Emilia Pérez” clip that went viral for all the wrong reasons.

The sequence follows Zoe Saldaña’s character as she quizzes a doctor on “gender-affirming care.”

Currently, he’s criticizing a movie that garnered an astounding 13 Academy Award nominations and the industry that supports it. Earlier this month, this very film was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Picture in the Musical or Comedy category.

Karla Sofía Gascón, an Academy Award nominee, takes the lead in ‘Emiila Pérez’ as a ruthless drug lord who undergoes a transformation to become a woman. She orchestrates her former identity’s demise and reemerges as a stronger, empowered individual.”

“In ‘Emiila Pérez’, it is Karla Sofía Gascón, an Academy Award nominee, who plays the role of a drug lord who transitions to become a woman. She masterminds her previous persona’s death and emerges as a more powerful version of herself.

The movie didn’t get a boost during the Oscars season. In fact, “Saturday Night Live” poked fun at its relatively low viewership numbers.

Dillon piled on.

According to Dillon, only a dozen individuals in Hollywood expressed interest in this project, and it’s clear that neither Mexican nor transgender people were among them.”

Dillon stated that only 12 people in Hollywood wanted to be involved in this project, and it seems that neither Mexicans nor transgender people were part of the group.

Critics, including GLAAD, have accused the movie of presenting an unsatisfactory portrayal of transgender narratives. Some Mexican audiences even criticized it for lacking authenticity.

viewers on Rotten Tomatoes rated the movie quite poorly with only a 17% “rotten” assessment. Although critics gave it a more favorable 72% “fresh” rating, that doesn’t exactly suggest the film will be a strong contender for an Oscar.

He remarked that the movie didn’t seem logical from a marketing perspective. However, he pointed out that the town where he was currently residing no longer seemed concerned with such matters. Instead, they were more interested in giving out awards and gradually declining, showing little concern for anything else.

He then played the musical number show above and interrupted it midway through.

Dillon commented, “It’s almost as if The Daily Wire created this as a satire.” He went on to say, “This feels like one of Matt Walsh’s videos… I find it hard to believe and can hardly comprehend that such a thing actually exists.

“Show this at the border and they’ll self-deport,” he cracked. “You won’t need ICE.”

He then grew a little serious, at least as serious as Dillon can be.

“Can you tell a story with any dignity? With any artistry?

He went on to express a challenging viewpoint about the town’s situation: “It seems there are employment issues,” he stated, given his frequent collaborations with Netflix, the streaming service that produced the movie.

He stated, “The residents of this town have wrecked businesses and shattered trust in the film industry of America. What they’ve effectively done is sink the ships they are captaining by producing content that the public despises.

“You’ve turned large swaths of the American public against your business,” he said.
